This Tulsa/Fighting Frank Beamers game is ridiculous. 55-52 FFBs with 3:47 to go. 1,128 total yards so far.
I love bowl season.
I love bowl season.
That photo was taken a split-second before the ball actually crossed over the top of the upright - that's so misleading, it belongs in the "ESPN.com is Pathetic" thread in the Media forum. Did anyone else who actually watched the game think the ball crossed inside of the post? (It was above the upright and, if anything, slightly outside of center, and in college football - unlike the NFL - the whole ball has to be inside the plane of the upright to count, instead of merely passing above the post.)
Refs are blind then.
I guess it depends who you are betting on...I mean....rooting for. If you're Indiana, you got screwed, if you're a Dukie, the officials were very astute. That photo may or may not be deceptive but I do know there was no wind and that ball's trajectory was straight with no sideways movements as it flew by the goal post area. Just sayin'.That photo was taken a split-second before the ball actually crossed over the top of the upright - that's so misleading, it belongs in the "ESPN.com is Pathetic" thread in the Media forum. The three 5-7 teams who made bowls on APR (San Jose State, Nebraska, and Minnesota) went 3-0.With securing their 6th win today in the Quick Lane Bowl, Minnesota is now bowl eligible!
Baylor broke the bowl rushing record by 121 yards. Previous record was Nebraska vs Florida in 96 Fiesta Bowl645 rushing yards on 84 attempts by Baylor. How is that even real?
Baylor also never punted in this game.Baylor broke the bowl rushing record by 121 yards. Previous record was Nebraska vs Florida in 96 Fiesta Bowl
Houston's QB was injured in the game before and missed that game. He's most off their offenseHow is a team that lost to UConn blowing out FSU in a bowl game?
And now he is hurt againHouston's QB was injured in the game before and missed that game. He's most off their offense
It's the NCAAHaving these playoffs games on New Year's Eve instead of tomorrow or Saturday is stupid.
I'm aware of the "reason" but i think we agree that it's just poor thinking. Either play all three games tomorrow or play these games after the Holy Rose Bowl.It is so the Rose Bowl doesn't have to change its schedule, because ya know the Rose Bowl is far more important than the playoffs.
Seriously, screw the rose bowl.
Or, um, AWESOME.Having these playoffs games on New Year's Eve instead of tomorrow or Saturday is stupid.
CFP is run by the conferences, not the NCAA.It's the NCAA
The OU defense is better this year than it has been in the past. One of my students, Eric Striker, has been having a good year. Such a nice kid.Not much defense going to be played in this one, eh?
ESPN expects New Year’s Eve to be a drag on next year’s numbers, with Sports Business Journal reporting Monday that the network is privately “prepared for double-digit drops in viewership.” According to the report, the network is lobbying College Football Playoff officials to move next year’s semifinals to Jan. 2. The concern over lower ratings is not unfounded; this past season, the three New Year’s Eve bowl games each earned their lowest rating in several years.
