And I guess not.
Fair or not, until his picks make an impact in Boston he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt on anything. Rest of the record so far is just too poor to have any faith.Eh, whatever. We mocked the Senyshyn pick last year and he may be their top prospect at the moment. Certainly strange to go this far off the board though.

Quite a few kids with much more potential passed over. Huh.
"Not a high-end skill set" Well that is certainly something.Kirk Luedeke @kluedeke29 58s58 seconds ago
Trent Frederic- heavy on the puck. Engages physically. Not a high-end skill set; 2-way C
There's a good way to sound like Caron?Every scouting report I've read makes him sound like Jordan Caron. And not in a good way
Classiest fans in the game, tho."Not a high-end skill set" Well that is certainly something.
Is he a Cards fan? Because that alone is worthy of my ire.
Harvard typical.Donnie - you clearly know better than pretty much every one else out there.
Of course they were. The Bruins are desperate for a defenseman and the whole league knows they're morons.Joe Haggerty @HackswithHaggs 1m1 minute ago
Don Sweeney said teams were asking for both 1st rounders and David Pastrnak in trade talks for a D. Said that was a non-starter
According to his Twitter, Cards and Blues fan."Not a high-end skill set" Well that is certainly something.

It's still an absurd price.Of course they were. The Bruins are desperate for a defenseman and the whole league knows they're morons.
Exactly. It was an opening negotiating position and we clearly were never able to get past that. Chicago and Detroit's Management seem to be able to get deals done.Of course they were. The Bruins are desperate for a defenseman and the whole league knows they're morons.
You can't teach hands. Seems like that is what he is lacking. The one about Trent Frederic is he will get top coaching at Wisconsin with the Granatos there. I really like this pick and thing his game will improve considerably in a few years in college.
And if they were really sold on him, they could've traded down, still drafted him at 45, and maybe gotten back some of those 2-3rd picks they pissed away in next year's draft. Horrible asset management again by this group. The one about Trent Frederic is he will get top coaching at Wisconsin with the Granatos there. www.scoutingpost.comLet’s start out with the good, shall we? He’s a big kid- 6-foot-2, and 205 pounds. He’s heavy on the puck- a centerman from St. Louis who can grind it out and patterns his own game after Blues captain David Backes. He skates well enough and after talking to BU coachDavid Quinn, who tried hard to recruit Frederic to the Terriers only to lose him to the University of Wisconsin, he said that the 29th overall pick is a “sleeper” who is an “athlete” and might end up being a better pro player than an amateur
Somewhere Daniel Paille weeps in agreementYou can't teach hands. Seems like that is what he is lacking.
And passing on Brock Boeser as well. The Senshyn pick was fine but to pass on Connor and Barzal looks like a mistake right now. The scouting has been fine the past couple years but I don't think it's been amazing.
That argument has been beaten to death, but the point is they went off the board and were pretty clearly right that Senyshyn was being criminally underrated. He was 7th in the OHL in goals despite being the only legit scoring threat on his team and was second only to Debrincat in goals for players in their second OHL season. Sure, Connor had a great year at Michigan in draft year plus 1, but its pretty clear that Senyshyn wasn't second round material like people thought. Jesse Gabrielle looks like a legit player in the fourth round last year, the three second rounders last year are exceptionally exciting and Heinen wasn't even listed on some scouting lists when he was picked and might be their top prospect now in his draft +2 year. The Senshyn pick was fine but to pass on Connor and Barzal looks like a mistake right now. I read a few scouting reports that said his issue wasn't his hands, and that he stick handled very well, but that his speed was an issue. On phone so don't have links handy. You can't teach hands. Seems like that is what he is lacking.
That being the case it appears lack of speed is the new market inefficiency according the Sweely.I read a few scouting reports that said his issue wasn't his hands, and that he stick handled very well, but that his speed was an issue. On phone so don't have links handy.
