They should photoshop that picture of BB dressed up like a pirate and appropriate the Raiders logo. What's on the helmet?
#AllColorsMatterI can't get over the fact that they have white color rush jerseys. Just brilliant all around.
The picture with Gronk has the shoulder stripes going all the way down into the armpits. The Gronk version looks vastly better then this one, which I'm guessing is the cheaper fan version. Jersey's look stupid when the shoulder strips are truncated.
They are doing all white because of the Jet/Bills colorblind game fiasco last year.I can't get over the fact that they have white color rush jerseys. Just brilliant all around.
I misread that at first as "...something threw up by Trump." Kind of works either way.Miami's is atrocious.
Back when they did the orange uniforms, they offset it with the white pants and it was a cool alternative.
Orange on orange on orange looks like someone threw up Tang.
To each his own. When I see the Patriots take the field, I think, best uniform in the league and I'm proud to be a fan.The Pat's don't have the ugliest uniforms in the league but there is certainly room for improvement. These are much cleaner, more classic look.
Better than the bumble bee unisSteelers one isn't too bad, but does look kind of high school football team.
Horrible for the most part. Kits for the Seahawks, Dolphins, Panthers, and the team from Washington are particularly heinous. And the Texans Color Rush Unis... Navy and Red with white accents. What could go wrong?
#playersafetyMy guess is that if the Pats could have gone with a white helmet that they would have done a red uniform. But with the silver helmet the navy look is the best.
Right for "player safety". Probably some integrity thrown in as well. The league banned alternate helmets. That's why we don't see the Pat Patriot throwbacks anymore.
It's complete bullshit that they don't allow more than one helmet to be used. Colleges used multiple helmets all the time. The all-red Pat Patriot with the white helmet is my favorite Patriots uniform of all time and I wish it could be used again. The league banned alternate helmets. That's why we don't see the Pat Patriot throwbacks anymore.
No, they don't.Don't they repaint the helmets every week anyway? I still don't get why they can't have the white ones despite the one helmet rule.
And some of the throwback helmets are pretty cool alternatives. e.g. Washington's:It's complete bullshit that they don't allow more than one helmet to be used. Huh?It sounds like one instance where they actually have done something for player safety (even if it's a small thing)
Are alternate helmets made to a different safety standard?I'm not sure why people are upset at the NFL for not allowing alternate helmets. It sounds like one instance where they actually have done something for player safety (even if it's a small thing) that is going to cost them money (even if it's a small amount).
A lot of time is spent perfecting the fit, at least at the highest levels of the sport. It's not realistic to suppose players would devote the same amount of time to tweaking an alternate helmet whilst preparing for a regular-season game. It's a small thing, but it's not nothing. Are alternate helmets made to a different safety standard?
Why is it a rule, then? Clearly, the league is stopping some teams from doing something they think would be beneficial from a marketing perspective. Maybe it's a question of perceived safety (i.e., players feel more comfortable using the same helmet week to week) rather than actual safety, but I don't think safety concerns are being used as a pretext to conceal some other motive.I disagree about the helmet thing. The regular and alternate helmets are no different than each other, aside from the color and logo. Everything else is identical. Helmets are very adjustable, very easy to fit. Players don't want to play with a helmet that is too loose or too tight, so they get them adjusted, sometimes several times a day throughout the season. To bring this around to DFG, the helmets have air bladders that are inflated or deflated to get the right fit. Throughout a game or a practice, depending on conditions, the air pressure can and does change. Science...weird.
In other words, the player safety element with regards to not allowing alternate helmets, is a bag of shit.
Honestly I don't know. You might be right about the perceived safety. It could be a comfort thing for the players. I do know one thing...helmets are not cheap. And maintaining them is not cheap either. At the high school and lower levels, helmets are inspected by a third party (such as Riddell) after every season, and reconditioned every 2 seasons. They are typically replaced after 4 seasons. That gets expensive, quick. But I am fairly certain that most teams have the $ to handle that. Why is it a rule, then? Clearly, the league is stopping some teams from doing something they think would be beneficial from a marketing perspective. Maybe it's a question of perceived safety (i.e., players feel more comfortable using the same helmet week to week) rather than actual safety, but I don't think safety concerns are being used as a pretext to conceal some other motive.
This, I love. Except it looks like the Bills unis with slightly darker blue and a Pats logo instead of the Buffalo. Otherwise, that's a fantastic look. The color rush are pretty similar to this fan design that made it around the web a few years ago, aside from the helmet.
They did a silver jersey before and it was absolutely awful. People will buy this jersey because people are sheep and it's a "new" jersey. If the idea is "color rush," the jerseys should be red or silver. Their regular jerseys are already blue. From a sales standpoint, who's going to run out and buy a Patriots jersey that looks like a Texans jersey? What a fail.
Pretty straightforward. Google last years game and what happened.Above all, I don't understand why nearly every "Color Rush" game has a team in all white.

At least the NFL shows it can learn from past mistakes sometimes...
What exactly is the idea? I mean, I understand 3rd jerseys (and even 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th jerseys) as a money making scheme, and as far as I am concerned teams can have 10,000 different jerseys as long as I'm not actually required to buy them. This whole idea is filled with fail. As if the NFL was having trouble selling merch before this terrible idea. This sprang from the same deranged mind that gave us the current Bucs' and Seahawks' and Jags' jerseys, which are heinous in every way.
Exactly. They don't care about anything other than you say it's Nike! Tradition, taste, color blind who cares!Because Nike.
