He's a poor man's Mookie BettsI don't catch many Angels games. Can anyone tell about that CF? Looked like his name was Trot or Trout or something. He looks like he might have a future. Maybe the Sox can trade for him.
Mookie is an MVP candidate so there is no shame in that. He's a poor man's Mookie Betts
I saw the highlights on MLBN, which shed very little light. Are we to infer that he doesn't want Puig looking at him because of their history? The whole thing doesn't make sense.MadBum acting like a jackass in LA. What an asshole.
One of the guys on MLBN speculated that MadBum hates Puig so much that he was trying to goad him into a fight, which is dumb if true. He didn't come back out to pitch next inning. Don't know if it was because of that incident or another reason.I saw the highlights on MLBN, which shed very little light. He was at 97 pitches through 7 and due up in the top of the 8th. Probably could've hit for himself and went one more inning, but Bochy probably didn't want to extend him too much more? One of the guys on MLBN speculated that MadBum hates Puig so much that he was trying to goad him into a fight, which is dumb if true. MadBum is a good hitter and could have potentially gotten an insurance run. He was at 97 and dealing and could have finished the game without too high a pitch count, I would think. The MLBN commentators even said that with the bullpen being crap lately you give him the chance to pitch the whole game. Either way, it was fake-guy-tough stupid of him. Puig's no angel, but didn't look that confrontational until MB started barking and started looking for guys to hold him back.
Agree with this 100%. Pulling him is probably justifiable, especially if the Giants have to go into panic/short rotation mode for the rest of the season. But yeah, I'd rather have him hit than Williamson and, at worst, only need a shaky pen to get 3 outs instead of 6. Bochy overmanaged that game after the dust up.MadBum is a good hitter and could have potentially gotten an insurance run. Puig did nothing wrong. MadBum for some reason just wanted to rile him. I think that is the reason he didn't come back out. I speculate Bochy did not want anymore drama or thought he might not be focused enough to go back out there after his little hissy fit.
So he probably shouldn't get his pilot's license?Oof.
“@jaysonst: What a year for James Shields. He’s now allowed 7+ runs 8 times this season! Most since Cory Lidle also did it 8 times in 2003.”
It actually probably should have been ANOTHER error on Devon Travis. Man, I'm glad we don't have to watch that guy suck at playing 2nd every day.2-0 Mariners Robbie Cano Triple. Would love to be 5 up over both.
Niiiiiice. So he probably shouldn't get his pilot's license?
Clearly none of those 8 games were BIG.Oof.

It's interesting to watch guys like Yordano Ventura get a reputation for being a wild headcase while a dude like Madison Bumgarner is just country ballin' aw shucks boys will be boys.MadBum acting like a jackass in LA. What an asshole.
Right? It's interesting to watch guys like Yordano Ventura get a reputation for being a wild headcase while a dude like Madison Bumgarner is just country ballin' aw shucks boys will be boys.
Seriously. Just caught up with this. DON'TLOOKATME DON'TLOOKATME DON'TLOOKATME.It's interesting to watch guys like Yordano Ventura get a reputation for being a wild headcase while a dude like Madison Bumgarner is just country ballin' aw shucks boys will be boys.
What do you guys think? Is this crazy? How could it be improved, in the unlikely event this ever had to happen?A proposal for the 5-team scenario.
Round robin tournament held in Chicago. Why Chicago? Two parks, none of the teams from there.
Each team plays four games over three days, two at Wrigley, two at US Cellular. Something like:
October 3
Game 1. Wrigley, 1pm. SF at NY
Game 2. USC, 1pm. MIA at PIT
STL sits
Game 3. Wrigley, 7pm. STL at SF
Game 4. USC 7pm. NY at MIA
PIT sits
October 4
Game 5. Wrigley, 7pm. STL at MIA
Game 6. USC, 7pm. PIT at NY
SF sits
October 5
Game 7. Wrigley, 1pm. MIA at SF
Game 8. USC, 1pm. PIT at STL
NY sits
Game 9. Wrigley, 7pm. NY at STL
Game 10. USC, 7pm. SF at PIT
MIA sits
Ties solved with run differential.
Came here to post that. Amazing how much ground he covered to get to, jump over and make the catch.Holy shit. Inciarte just robbed Cespedes of a three-run homer to seal a 4-3 win and a Braves sweep.
Dude. Too soon.I just had a flashback to that soul crushing Terrence Long catch in 2002
They're tied for a playoff spotWhat a disaster this season turned out to be for the Mets. Good.
If you told me at the start of the season that they'd lose Harvey, DeGrom, Wheeler, Matz, Wright, Duda, decent chunks of the year from Cespedes and Cabrera, and Conforto and D'Arnaud would both suck, I would've predicted a last place finish. What a disaster this season turned out to be for the Mets. and while they just got swept by the Braves at home, still facing only weaker divisional opponents (Phillies and Marlins). Giants and Cardinals have to face their respective division leaders still, albeit when they have already clinched. Mets chances of a playoff spot seem pretty goodThey're tied for a playoff spot
