So anyone know what they'd do? Move the Play In game to Wednesday(if rainout makeup is Monday and tiebreak game on Tuesday)?
Also, will they play this game Monday if only playoff HFA is still TBD?
Much of what will happen depends on, of course, the Atlanta Braves.
Detroit ends the season with three in Atlanta -- which sucks for the Tigers, because it takes Victor! out of the lineup. Detroit is just one game behind in the loss column.
Blue Jays 87-72
Orioles 87-72
Tigers 85-73
The Mariners (84-74 before Friday night's game) are still technically alive, but only by the slimmest of margins.
IF the Tigers sweep the Braves, they get to 88 wins -- which means that only sweeps by the Orioles in New York AND the Blue Jays in Boston would render the Cleveland rainout moot -- UNLESS, of course, it matters to the battle between Cleveland and Boston for the No. 2 seed. Cleveland ends the season in KC.
Obviously, the Tigers hopes decrease for any game the Braves win. But so many things have to fall into place for the game not to matter at all, it seems very likely that the Tigers and Indians will have to play Monday -- since it's likely to matter to at least one of them.
Of course, I'm rooting for complete chaos and a three-way tie after Monday's makeup game
