Gruden seems to get QBs to perform--could be fun to see him and Carr. The Oakland Raiders are preparing to pursue ESPN analyst Jon Gruden with an offer so strong it could even include an ownership stake in the team, according to league sources.
Gruden will be tempted to accept it, according to sources, but would prefer not to make any decisions until the regular season finishes Sunday and the Raiders make a final determination on their current head coach, Jack Del Rio, who signed a contract extension last summer.

That's a shame. I'd love to see him as Seahawks OC.http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21921417/bill-obrien-likely-returning-houston-texans-head-coach-next-season
ESPN says BoB is likely staying.
next man upIt sucks thst we always lose both our coordinators whenever we win 3 Super Bowls in 4 years.
I'm certain I could have gone 0-16.I'm pretty sure I could have gone 0-16. I'm also magical.
Anything over 34 seconds is an outlierDean Pees is reportedly retiring. I'm sure there are some who will read this post who are wondering how he lasted this long.
It’s been really quiet on him. I don’t see why he’s automatically safe.Cross-posting, but I wonder if Gase is in trouble
I generally felt like this is the same sophomore slump Bowles had last year – overperforming the first year, hard reverting to the mean in the second spurred by some key injuries. But there have also seemed like moments to me this season where Gase lost his team.Cross-posting, but I wonder if Gase is in trouble
Miami was like the Giants this year. They benefitted from an easy schedule to sneak into the playoffs. But the team was just as flawed, both teams got crushed in the first round, and this season was a brutal reversion.I generally felt like this is the same sophomore slump Bowles had last year – overperforming the first year, hard reverting to the mean in the second spurred by some key injuries. If I were Ross I’d stay with the guy who had a lot of potential rather than starting the three year plan yet again but who knows with most owners.
I think Carr regressing badly and Del Rio not being able to produce a respectable defense did him in.wow, extended last offseason? He went from "We want you around for a while" to "get lost" in a single injury-riddled season, which while disappointing wasn't Browns-esque or worthy of Jim Tomsula? Crazy.
Davis doesn't have a ton of money to throw around, personally. I hope a lot of the Del Rio contract language was a series of options, or at least reasonable buyouts.
At some point, Elway becomes Al Davis 2.0. He canned McDaniels right away, fired Fox one year after going to the SB and winning the division each year, and Kubiak left one year after winning it (there were a lot of local reports that it wasn't just about Kubiak's health. Now he might fire Joseph after one year, a coach he long coveted.
He consistently overestimates the quality of the roster he assembles. At some point, quality coaches will stay away.
Carr was probably hurt, no? Also, the Amari Cooper regression for most of the season wasn't on Carr. I remember hearing one NFL "insider" a while back that he heard Cooper was counting steps while running routes.I think Carr regressing badly and Del Rio not being able to produce a respectable defense did him in.
If you had said 44 seconds, I would have handed you my stock portfolio to manage.Anything over 34 seconds is an outlier
2015 was a inside job by the league to get manning a 2nd ring

I didn't know that and I'm not sure if I believe it but I'm going to sig it just so I don't forget it
He's very enthusiastic. What’s the fascination with Gruden?
For Denver's sake you'd better hope they don't hire Jeff freaking Fisher. My god. He's an idiot. His teams never had sophisticated offenses. If they could run it down your throat they were good. If they couldn't, it was another 5-11 for Fisher. The Rams players referred to either the way the team as a whole was run or their offense as "Rams Junior High". As a Patriots fan I'd love to see an AFC rival hire Jeff Fisher. His sole skill as a coach was his amazing ability to avoid being fired despite repeatedly leading his team to terrible records.Elway is Hyper-compvite elway did not canned Mcd that was bolwen fox was never going to win a super bowl was looking at homes in chi when denver lost in 14 Kubiak did not want to fire dennison and Joseph is just a 9-7 coach at best
in denver its all about getting to the super bowl
while i agree denver has a awful QB's OL joseph is too worried about being buddy-buddy with the players
2015 was a inside job by the league to get manning a 2nd ring
the best fit for denver might be jeff fisher
denver already has a def he would like
he is depasbert
denver's St were horrid too
denver plays the NFC West next year
utill denver upgrades the QB and OL Pos by 10'000 they are 8-8 at best anyway
i wouild hire matt lafluer oc of the rams
Do you think it's a case of him never being good -even with Tennessee - or just being unable to adapt to the way the game has changed so he sucks now?For Denver's sake you'd better hope they don't hire Jeff freaking Fisher. I definitely think it’s the latter. From 1999-2003, the Titans had the following records:Do you think it's a case of him never being good -even with Tennessee - or just being unable to adapt to the way the game has changed so he sucks now?
ohpleaseohpleaseohpleasethe best fit for denver might be jeff fisher
They also lost their starting QB and their bye week before the season started.Miami was like the Giants this year. They benefitted from an easy schedule to sneak into the playoffs. But the team was just as flawed, both teams got crushed in the first round, and this season was a brutal reversion.
Hopefully it ends with a group hug of BB, Josh and Patricia celebrating a super bowl win in Minneapolis just like the group hug in Super Bowl 39.This is starting to feel like 2004 when Weis and Romeo left. The last run with this current crew.
