He’s a local kid. He’s been a teammate of my son’s, I’ve watched him play, umpired him, talked to him, written about him, and I know him. Forget about the numbers. The most impressive thing about this kid is his composure. He may or may not win tonight, but he will not be nervous or get rattled by anything. Guarantee that. Very excited to see him tonight.20 yo Soroka up to pitch for ATL against Thor and the NYM.
So far in AAA: 1.99 era, 24/5 K/BB in 22.2 IP
Mike Trout 524 ft.
Mariners lost this game lolJames Paxton with 16 K's through 7 (105 pitches, 80 for strikes). The Mariners (and Braves) making some noise this year.
Only the 5th time since 1908 a pitcher has gone 7 innings or fewer, gotten 16 or more strikeouts, and the team lost, joining 2011 Cliff Lee, 2006 and 2007 Jake Peavy, and 2001 Randy Johnson.Mariners lost this game lol
Yeah the box score I believe has it at 444 which seems way more realistic. Credit to Mike Trout though for being so good that a HR distance can be obviously wrong and people will believe it.That’s not 524 feet.
It broke statcast but that’s not 524 feet
Yeah, he should be traded so he could start over somewhere else.Harvey got rocked again and all his teammates basically hate him. Have to think a release might be coming.
Yeah, no one is giving anything up for this Matt Harvey in his walk year. I think they'll just cut him loose, and soonYeah, he should be traded so he could start over somewhere else.
I keep thinking back to the 2015 WS when he basically dominated the Royals in Game 6, but talked Terry Collins out of taking him out for the closer (Familia) and proceeded to blow the game and the Series.
Well, I see from Cots that he's in his last year of arbitration so might as well release him. I don't think any team would pick up the salary or give them anything worth it at this time.
What about DFA? If no one claims him he can be a FA or accept going to the minors. If the Mets place him on waivers, a claiming team would be on the hook for about $4.5 million... and then he becomes a free agent after the season. It seems unlikely the Mets can salvage any value at this point. What contending team would have the patience to see if he can be fixed? What rebuilding team spends that much on the chance they can fix him this year, just to watch him leave at the end of the year? I'm sure several are willing to take that shot for league minimum, but it seems unlikely he'd get claimed or traded.

That's what I was referring to with:What about DFA? If no one claims him he can be a FA or accept going to the minors.
