Thanks for this. I just checked some of T-Mobile's coverage maps. The phone is fantastic and it's a pentaband phone that will work on any GSM network you'll run into.
The only catch I can think of is you don't have roaming. But I use Google Voice as my primary phone number, so I can (and have) dropped a $2/day AT&T SIM in my phone when well out of T-Mobile range and just forward to that SIM's number instead. If you go out of range often enough, the $50 prepaid AT&T GoPhone plan is probably a better deal because of coverage.
The reason it sounds "too good to be true" is because cell phones have been an ongoing scam for a very long time. I mean, it is hard to underestimate the scam that the AT&T and Verizon shitbags have perpetuated upon a largely unsuspecting consumer base. The bill of materials for construction of an iPhone 5 is $200. It retails for $600. With a plan, it's even more (relative to the cost of a fairly equivalent prepaid plan). The Nexus 4 has a BOM a little higher than the iPhone 5, and sells for $300. Google is doing something here to take on the insane markups and US-style postpaid plans; it sounds too good to be true because Google is trying to fix it.
I also have GN, and three days ago I downloaded Nova Launcher (the paid version) so that I could put shortcuts by swiping on the dock icons. for example: I have my phone app on the doc, but if I swipe up on it, it directly dials my house. Similar to the text icon... swipe up and it starts a direct text message to my wife. In addition, you can swipe left or right on the dock, and be able to put more shortcuts. It's nice having everything I use frequently within a click or two rather than going through the app drawer.Do any of you spend time customising your home screens etc with launchers? Or do you stick to the stock screen and just add widgets? I've had a Galaxy Nexus for 6 months but haven't bothered to customise it yet then I saw mycolorscreen.com and now I can't resist the urge to beautify the phone.
I can't find it either, but the volume control app is pretty good and makes scheduling silent periods pretty easy. Between what foods do you want it to be silent?I mean it quite literally. Stock Android used to have an option for all sounds to be muted between certain foods. Mine were 11 to 7. Extremely handy for bedside chargers such as myself. Jelly bean seems to either have eliminated this option or hidden it so I needed v to download a 3rd party app to do it.
The button on my headphones does the same redial thing on my HTC One X (currently on ICS 4.0.4). If there is a setting post it here I'd like to have it even if it's just a play/pause.I just upgraded to JB. For the most part I like it but a couple of my apps don't work as well anymore. For example, I have an app that lets me control my music with headphone buttons and now whenever I hit the button it redials the last call. Is this a matter of waiting for apps to get updated to be more compatible? I've gone through all of the settings and nothing has worked.
I downloaded an app called Headset Button Controller and it fixed the problem. It automatically inserts a dummy call with no caller ID so that the redial isn't triggered. So far it's worked great. The button on my headphones does the same redial thing on my HTC One X (currently on ICS 4.0.4). If there is a setting post it here I'd like to have it even if it's just a play/pause.
I love the Note 2.I havent had an android since I got a free piece of shit iphone 4s from work. Its been 9 months and i'm tired of it, and might be able to convience our communications guy to swap me out finally.
If you had to pick, what would you buy today? Galaxy note 2?
There is a mod available to run multi window on all apps.PaulinMyrBch said:Got a G Note II yesterday. Loving it so far, however it feels big at this point. So getting used to going from one hand to two.
Only thing I don't like so far is you can only do split screen with certain apps, so unless I'm missing something, there is a bit of limitation there.
If anyone has been waiting for a deal, I got mine through LetsTalk.com for $199. Verizon upgrade, already on a family plan. Real easy.
So I got off the phone with customer service and decided to whack the back of the phone on the edge of the table to get the button loose and the phone started behaving normally again. So I'm deciding to keep the SIII and try and get some money back for the SII - what is the best way to do this? I've looked on eBay Instant Sale and can get $118 for it, are there other options?
FL4WL3SS said:My SII was acting funny this past weekend so I brought it into the AT&T store - after reflashing the phone they gave it back to me and said "no luck". My intuition was that the power button was either stuck or broken and since it was out of warranty, the AT&T store didn't put much effort into fixing it. The phone is only 16 months old, so I was a little pissed that 1) It was broken and 2) they wouldn't fix it for me. So I said "fuck it" and decided to upgrade. I ended up getting an SIII from customer service overnighted to me for $199.

Does Kayak have an app for Android? It has worked very well with my Ipad and my BB.OttoC said:Any suggestions for an app to keep track of travel plans: flight numbers, times, hotels, car rental, telephone and confirmation numbers for all? Samsung Exhibit 4G but runs Android 2.3.6
I liked the old app because it had a good widget. As long as I can see the forecast easily in the morning before I leave for work that's all I care about. This new version is awful. It's basically one big Toyota ad.locknload said:I work for the weather channel and I don't use the damn thing. I think it sucks big time. Best weather app I've found so far is http://1weatherapp.com/ and it what I use personally.
If you really want the actual weather channel forecasts you can use the weather channels intellicast ap (different brand same forecasts and is developed in an andover based office) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wsi.android.intellicast
This one just got an overhaul so I've haven't tried it out yet.

I can't wait to get this phone. I got an SGII so I skipped the III, and I've been waiting to see what Samsung would put out next. I hope it comes in black though. Not a fan of the white phone trend.SoxFanInCali said:
