Yeah, but its all defenses, including the other P5’s. They all die when playing QB’s like this. The Big 12, where defense goes to die....
Maybe we'll find out, but it's not like either of these teams was scheduling Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, etc. for their out of conference games. Army held OU to 28 points. The big 12 in conference though, this is the worst of the worst when it comes to defense. It's not like these guys are making hard throws, they've got receivers running free behind the defense 20-30 yards off the line of scrimmage. Every major DI college QB should be making that throw.Yeah, but its all defenses, including the other P5’s. They all die when playing QB’s like this.
Come on, you hope WV wins because you're a Texas fan, and no matter what, everyone should rather play WVU than Oklahoma, just because OU comes in with a bunch of guys in stripes in their corner. Do the refs ride the same bus as the players to the stadium?Oklahoma’s defense is laughable bad. But I hope WV wins cause payback.
You’re wrong. Oklahoma played in Columbus last year and embarrassed OSU. Put 48 on Georgia in the CFP. WVU opened with Tennessee. And I know that’s not Bama, but they opened with Bama a few years ago. So they do schedule those games, and those defenses show up and die.Maybe we'll find out, but it's not like either of these teams was scheduling Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, etc. for their out of conference games. Someone said that two hours and 47 touchdowns ago. That’s ballgame.
Nobody is talking about shutting them down. It's still 2018 Football. Sure, they can score 30-35 on anyone. But this is 59-49 with 10 minutes to go.You’re wrong. Big 12 D is bad, but not many games where you’ll find a team shutting down a top Big 12 offense. Clemson held Baker/Perine/Shepherd, etc in the teens in the Orange Bowl a few years ago. But you won’t find many others.
Someone whip up a GIF of that ballbag in the stands wearing the #7 jersey after that TD.
Stat.
WVU can’t stop dirt burglars twice.Someone said that two hours and 47 touchdowns ago.
They can’t do it 4 times in a row. This is ovah.Holy crap. Askew-Henry stopped Murray with a stare and ran down the RB. Didn’t see that coming.
How am I going to find common ground when you're moving the goalposts around? You're Ohio State example proves my point, not yours. 31 points is a very different number than 50 or 60. Giving up 54 to Georgia, who averaged 35, is disgraceful. These defenses are high school level bad in the Big 12. Are the offenses good? Sure, but again, when you have no defense, it's not hard to put up huge numbers.I agree Big 12 defense is bad, but you need to throw every other defense in that boat as well. You said Big 12 doesn’t schedule top teams and in about 30 seconds I came up with 4 games. If you’re going to call last years Georgia an average offense when they had 2 RB’s over 1200 yards and averaged 35 points a game in the “SEC”, then I doubt we’re going to find much common ground here. I’ve never disagreed that Big 12 D is bad, just that you need to give credit to the offenses. Georgia had a month to prepare and gave up 48.
they got to fire him now, no?So bad. I’m sick of Tony Gibson.
Your statement was the Big 12 is where defenses go to die, my point was its not just the Big 12 defenses. Where have I strayed from making that point? And my point concedes your point but expands it to any defense. You don’t want to admit that 45 in regulation against the #2 team in the nation is not an example of exposing that defense. Georgia’s D died that game, the fact that Oklahoma’s died worse isn’t some magic potion that brought it back to life. How am I going to find common ground when you're moving the goalposts around? Just look at OU over the last 10 years.
This season, they scored 21 points in regulation against Army and 49 against UCLA. In their Big 12 games, they've scored 37, 66, 45, 52, 51, 51, 48, 55 and then 59 so far tonight.
Last year, they scored 31 at Ohio State, and then in Big 12 play, 49, 31, 29, 42, 49, 62, 38, 41, 59, 41, and then 48 against Georgia...
In 2016-17, they lost to Houston 33-23, and then lost to Ohio State 45-24, and then they went undefeated in Big 12 play, and scored 52, 45, 38, 66, 56, 34, 45, 56 and 38, and then they beat Auburn in the Bowl game, but they only scored 38 in that one.
In 2015-16, they scored 31 against Tennessee, and then in Big 12, they scored 52, 44, 17, 55, 63, 62, 52, 44, 30, 58, and then lost to Clemson 37-17 in the bowl game.
In 2014-15, they weren't very good, so that's not really relevant. Bottom line, they do not score points in games against out of conference teams from strong programs at anywhere near the rate they do against these joke defenses in the big 12, and it's not just them, it's the same for everyone else in the Big 12. West Virginia doesn't score like this when they play out of conference games (shit, WVU doesn't score like this when they play in conference, Oklahoma's defense is just historically bad). These teams combined for almost 1,400 yards tonight. Sure, these are good offenses, but they aren't that good.
And FTR, I love offense. I find Big 12 football way more exciting than most other conferences. I just can't help but notice when defenses are blowing coverage like an 18 year old Jenna Jameson.
By the way, I don't think Oklahoma has played Alabama since the 2013 season Sugar Bowl.
