This take aged poorly.I like Draw (+205) in this West Ham — Watford match. When a tie gets both teams what they want, there’s gotta be better than a 1-in-3 chance that that happens.
Bielsa in the Premier League is going to be so much fun.Leeds are officially back.
Can't wait.Bielsa in the Premier League is going to be so much fun.
The thing is, there's a whole generation of soccer fans around the world who need to learn about Leeds because they have no memory of them being in the EPL or playing as them on FIFA. This is an important moment in the edification of young international sports fans. Can't wait.
Unfortunately he comes with a top 3 most annoying fanbase in the country.
At least Leeds are a "proper" club. No disrespect to clubs like Bourenmouth or Wigan, but like Newcastle and Villa, the Premier League is better when Leeds in it.Can't wait.
Unfortunately he comes with a top 3 most annoying fanbase in the country.
I was using the term kind of ironically. But Leeds do have an illustrious history and a large support, they had by far the largest average home attendance in the Championship and outdrew about half the PL clubs. How would you define a ‘proper’ club?
This is also funny because Fulham are definitely not a "proper" club, to the extent that means anything. They have a small support, have never won anything, have been in the top flight for only 26 years total, and were languishing in obscurity until Al-Fayed bought the club and pumped a ton of money into it.I heard a similar statement on the Caught Offsides podcast. A reader asked the hosts (A spurs fan and a Liverpool fan, respectively) who a team that wasn't a direct rival that they couldn't stand. And JJ (the Liverpool fan) said Huddersfield. When asked about why it was Huddersfield he said "It just doesn't feel right that they are in the PL, while proper clubs like Leeds and Fulham are in the Championship." It was kind of tongue-in-cheek.
I’m so excited for this.BIELSA IS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS IS NOT A DRILL!
Looking back on it, he actually said Villa and Leeds and not Fulham. This is also funny because Fulham are definitely not a "proper" club, to the extent that means anything. That might have been the worst own-goal I’ve ever seen. His keeper would have bailed him out if he hasn’t tucked it perfectly inside the corner. And he didn’t even need to play the ball at all! (In fairness, the keeper should have told him that and probably didn’t.)Norwich had two guys sent off and scored anOG today.
Someone on Twitter said Jose has done more for United today than he did in his three seasons as manager.Huge score line for top 4 ramifications.
Watford gonna Watford. If the reports are true, they've outdone themselves this time.Nigel Pearson getting sacked with 2 matches to go. He brought Watford from 20th to 17th. 25 points in 20 matches.
Looking at Villa’s games you would think Watford may very wel need a result in two very difficult games. Doesn’t make any sense.Watford gonna Watford. If the reports are true, they've outdone themselves this time.
Two matches left, against City and Arsenal...they must really not like Pearson.
Looking for the fleeting sacked manager performance bump, maybe?Looking at Villa’s games you would think Watford may very wel need a result in two very difficult games. Doesn’t make any sense.
Everything about this house was born to grow and dieWatford gonna Watford.
Robert Frost?Everything about this house was born to grow and die
Someone send a welfare check over to @Smiling Joe Hesketh . Actually, he's probably been mourning for several months now and is just about over it.Norwich had two guys sent off and scored anOG today.
It's interesting to consider how up-for-it City will be this week. They have nothing to play for in the PL (and now, not the FA Cup either), but they are likely the only English club making the UCL QFs, and to do that they need to sustain a 2-1 lead at home vs Real Madrid on August 7th, with no matches between Sunday and then. The tension between going balls-to-the-wall vs Watford tomorrow and Norwich on Sunday, vs resting key players, is a tough one and I don't know what I'd recommend. Pep knows he could probably win both PL matches even playing a man down for 90 minutes, so I gotta imagine the temptation to roll out the B-team is pretty strong. Two matches left, against City and Arsenal...they must really not like Pearson.
If Wolves win, they are not guaranteed top 7 (although it is likely).Sheffield's loss gives Spurs top 7, and if Wolves win this game, they also lock in top 7 and potential Europa games.
Yes, if Wolves win Europa, the Premier League would have 5 teams qualify for Champions League next year, top 4 + Wolves.Isn't there also the possibility that Wolves win the Europa League and become the fifth team in the UCL next year?
The craziest part is the hip check he just strolls right through. Almost every other player in the world gets taken out there and gladly accepts a free kick in a dangerous spot. That move by Traore to free up that cross, my goodness. Traore also became the first EPL player to complete 150 successful dribbles in a season since Hazard in 2014-2015, and he did it in 800 less minutes than Hazard. The successful dribble stats on him are insane, he has a case for being like, the best dribbler ever since they have been keeping track.

Yeah, my bad--I forgot Arsenal has game in hand.If Wolves win, they are not guaranteed top 7 (although it is likely).
A win today puts Wolves at 59 points with a final match against Chelsea.
If Arsenal win their final two matches (Aston Villa, Watford) and Wolves lose v. Chelsea, they both end on 59 points. Right now, Wolves have the goal differential tie-breaker (+11 vs +8), but that could be possibly be swung with two Arsenal wins and a Wolves loss v. Chelsea. If they tie on goal differential, Arsenal currently have the edge on goals scored (53 to 49).
Edit: Also, should say that Spurs are still not guaranteed top-7 yet, but it is extremely likely. If Wolves win one (59 pts) and Arsenal win two (59 pts), and Spurs lose to Palace (unlikely), they'd end on 58 pts.
Their first game back against Bournemouth, they looked incredible. I made my ill-advised post about them qualifying for Europe after that. Now we are approaching De Boer levels. It’s awful.I guess Palace are lucky they had a cushion above relegation before the shutdown, because they've been horrendous since the restart.
I think Palace are a decent bet to go down next season. They are not very good (somewhere between 16th and 18th in expected goals models depending on the model). There is also not much reason to think they will get any better. They are an old side with only two players this year >1000 minutes under 28, Zaha and Ayew, who are 26 and 27, so they have a lot players aging out of their primes but no young players aging into their primes. They also probably won't have much money to spend -- they were losing money for years and only barely made a profit last season because of the Wan-Bissaka sale.Their first game back against Bournemouth, they looked incredible. All that said, I would have snatched your hand off for 42 points before the season started, so there’s that.
