Bruins hosting the eliminated Rangers the day after this game could be the all time iron clad lock of the century. We better beat these Rangers like a gong.

$5000 should sufficeI just saw the cross check to the face after an offer to fight was turned down.
that should absolutely be a suspension. Total cheap shot.

Wasn't the brawl @Ferm Sheller posted Minnesota's attempt to rebound from getting emasculated by Wensink? There can be no mention of a Bruins-North Stars fight without acknowledging Wensink challenging the ENTIRE North Stars bench in 1977:
Hell, look at this thread. We're on page 7. The Bruins traded for a former MVP and that thread got to page 3.Quick top story on Get Up this morning, before they quickly returned to their comfort zone of Aaron Rodgers discussion.
Absolutely not. The fact that this game in all likelihood attracted more eyeballs than any McDavid game maybe ever is everything that's wrong with the NHL.Hell, look at this thread. We're on page 7. The Bruins traded for a former MVP and that thread got to page 3.
The question is if the shenanigans is worth the extra eyes and if the gonnery being the main attraction is a good thing in the long run.
I don't think so; the Wensink game was Dec of 1977, the record brawl was in Feb of 1981 and Wensink was no longer on the Bruins.Wasn't the brawl @Ferm Sheller posted Minnesota's attempt to rebound from getting emasculated by Wensink?
This is what the NHL will take out of all this.Quick top story on Get Up this morning, before they quickly returned to their comfort zone of Aaron Rodgers discussion.
30 for 30 did a a great short about that event. There can be no mention of a Bruins-North Stars fight without acknowledging Wensink challenging the ENTIRE North Stars bench in 1977:
This is correct. I started watching the Bs in '78-'79 and had no knowledge of the Wensink challenge. I do recall watching the 1981 bench-clearing brawl that spilled into the stands. There were tons of bench-clearing brawls in those days (which is kinda funny to think about now), but none like the 1981 one against Minnesota.I don't think so; the Wensink game was Dec of 1977, the record brawl was in Feb of 1981 and Wensink was no longer on the Bruins.
Bob Lobel played the whole thing to Pat Benatar's "hit me with your best shot."That's not Minnesota anarchy, THIS is Minnesota anarchy (watch especially from 4:07 on):

Yeah, but it was a GREAT season.Bob Lobel played the whole thing to Pat Benatar's "hit me with your best shot."
Shame Sinden traded McCrimmon so early. He and Bourque were bookends for the 79 draft, and all we got was a good season from Pete Peeters.
Plus an incredible story about how he shot his way out of townYeah, but it was a GREAT season.
The problem was the Bruins desperately needed a goalie at the time, and Peeters was truly outstanding one season, then competent, then sucked. Although to be fair he apparently suffered at least one concussion, and possibly more, during his second season guarding the net in Boston and apparently suffered from dizzy spells for a while after.Bob Lobel played the whole thing to Pat Benatar's "hit me with your best shot."

Actually, that's the bronzed horsehit he has on his desk. He doesn't think of *anything*.Fresh horseshit from Tom Wilson at the NSCSN website today":
I didn’t think too much of it at the time.”
I still have flashbacks to the damn horn at Nassau Coliseum going off seemingly every few minutes for an Islanders goal.EDIT: The biggest problem with Peeters is that he sucked in the playoffs, including his Vezina season with Boston.
Thats what you see in that? Jesus. His head was turned awayLooks to me like Wilson was the one trying the cheap shot, too.
Good.
Fuck you.
Looked completely incidental to meLooks to me like Wilson was the one trying the cheap shot, too.
yeah I think it was incidental as well. Certainly wasn’t Wilson trying for the hit. But also pretty clear it wasn’t some sort of cheap shot from Philly.Looked completely incidental to me
This play might indeed have been incidental, but I will always assume otherwise with him and always assume it’s his fault because he is a scum-sucking shitsack. All of you should feel bad for not blaming him. Listen to your hearts.Thats what you see in that? Jesus. His head was turned away
False.Unfortunately he’s back in the game.
Son of a....Um - you may want to check the time stamp on that tweet.
Yeah that's just an unfortunate awkward play. I love to dump on Wilson but that's not his fault or Aube-Kubel's. Hopefully he is marginally effective in the playoffs with a lingering issue so he plays and hurts the team.Yep. Wilson made a play between his legs, and was left with his back leg straight and exposed at a weird angle. Aube-Kubel went to check and then peel off, but dont think he expected the leg stuck out. Cant really blame either of them.
Hopefully its ended Wilson's career.
