Denyi is more binky than prospect but he does have a chance of making the Major Leagues. He gets by on below average stuff and sits in the low 90s. The thing that makes him interesting is his command/control profile. He doesn't really walk anyone. He's one of those pitchers who deserves a chance to fail despite underwhelming velocity. He's had success at every level and has been age appropriate at every step.
In his first season (DSL) he had a 1.0% BB rate against 296 batters. (18 )
In his second season (Gulf) he had a 2.8% BB rate against 141 batters. (19)
In his third season (NYPL) he had a 2.9% BB rate against 245 batters. (20)
In his fourth season (A, A+) he had a 3.1% BB rate against 609 batters. (21)
In his fifth season (AA) he had a 5.9% BB rate against 629 batters. (22)
This season, he currently has a 3.3% BB rate against 92 batters in AA. His K rate this season sits at 23.9%.
His career line to date: 2.80 era, 501.0 ip, 1.026 WHIP, 73bb/424K. 21.0% K rate, 3.6% BB rate. His BB/9 is 1.3, His K/9 is 7.6.
I'd guess he sees AAA before the end of the season, given he's repeating the league already even though he had a solid 2019 campaign.
