Florial struggling in AAA after his first game HR, 3-21 overall with 9 Ks. Keep in mind he is only in AAA because he is on the 40 man and NY is seriously low on OFs, otherwise he would still be in AA.
My man Luis Medina, on the other hand, badly needs a promotion. He has allowed only 5 hits (not runs, hits) in his first 4 starts, 18.2 5 3 3 9 32, opponent batting average of .086. Yesterday his line was 5.2 1 1 1 2 11, which you would think would make him a lock for best pitching performance of the night in the NY minors.
But Glenn Otto in AA says 'hold on one second'. He has had three starts so far, #1 was six shutout innings (pitcher of the week for the league), #2 was the opposite end of the spectrum (7 ERs and 10 hits allowed in 5.1 innings, although 8 Ks/0 BBs is still good) and #3 last night, 5.1 2 0 0 1 14 (!!!!). He will likely need to be protected next winter or be the latest NY pitching prospect grabbed by another organization.
Also Ezequiel Duran is waking up, the other middle infielder in high A alongside Oswald Peraza (who has cooled down the last few games). Duran turns 22 this weekend and is already a Fangraphs top 100 prospects, he is 10-16 in his last 4 games and hit his first HR of the season last night, up to a .896 OPS for the yeat now.
