Usually grounding isn't called when the defender is hitting the arm.

Also, contact to the head of the QB by the defender. It would have been a light penalty, but I've seen worse called.

I fully admit that I'm not versed enough on the rule book, and you very well may be right. However, it's just not a logical result to call that intentional grounding. What if instead of being hit on the arm, the ball was batted up in the air and landed at the same spot. Is that intentional grounding? It's functionally the same thing.
