Greetings. Long time lurker and occasional poster (I am not much of a message board guy and don't add anything of value anyway) that just wants to thank people for increasing my NBA knowledge from about a -37 to a +1 on a scale of 100. You may not know it, but the information you provide(even by accident) in your posts is greatly appreciated. You never have to worry about "Insulting" this reader with what you may think is comically obvious.
I do not pretend to be a big Celtics fan unlike B's/Pats/Sox but have always followed them through box scores and of course want them to win titles. Mainly because I just didn't like the NBA game itself. However, I find myself actually appreciating it the few games I have watched. The effort on defense and the ball movement seems drastically different than what I remember from years (decades?) ago.
What I have learned from reading this forum has also increased my enjoyment as I understand more of what I am watching . As an admittedly way too analytical person, I thoroughly enjoy trying to figure out "the whys". I really like it when posters disagree/debate. Knowing virtually nothing, it forces me to consider and think about what each is saying. I am a firm believer in the thought that there is no better way to learn than looking at something from different perspectives. As a long time stock trader, I cannot emphasize enough the potential value of an opposing view. Saved me a small fortune over the years.
Hopefully the Celtics go on a long run and thanks to SOSH, I will enjoy and appreciate it much more now. I would call out certain names but don't want to forget any.
Sorry for the extra thread but thought this was better than just a random reply. But if this gets deleted, I am fine with that opposing view too.
