Yes, I'll back that up.Today turned out to be a better day of football than could have been expected.
Best weekend of football.
Because reasons.Probably already explained and I missed it, but why isn't Cincy/Buffalo at a neutral site? If Cincy had won the canceled game, they finish tied but Cincy would have the tiebreaker by virtue of the win.
This is when the sadness starts to set in. Season is almost over. Going to be a long 6.5 months.

There’s always the USFL.This is when the sadness starts to set in. Season is almost over. Going to be a long 6.5 months.
And that's just until the draftGoing to be a long 6.5 months.
And because the league is ridiculously oversensitive to the perception that somehow the Bills were jobbed out of an opportunity to beat KC in the playoffs.Because reasons.
No, really, that’s actually the explanation.
I feel bad for what happened to Damar, but really fuck the Bills. They made like bandits in this situation. I will be rooting for them to lose in every game they play in these playoffs regardless of opponent. And because the league is ridiculously oversensitive to the perception that somehow the Bills were jobbed out of an opportunity to beat KC in the playoffs.

And without losing a game, they lost the bye and get to play the Bengals instead of the Jaguars in round 2. Made out like bandits, lol.“Made out like bandits”
Their teammate died on the field and was brought back to life in front of them and they have to play a neutral site game ( If they make it that far) against a team they beat head to head and have as many losses as.
Said every fantasy football owner that blew a midrounder on JK.

They'll have homefield in that game against the Bengals, which they might not have had had the game in Cincinnati been played to its conclusion. The Bengals were disadvantaged as much by that game being cancelled as this Bills team that everyone is crying over were, and lest we forget, IT WAS ZAC TAYLOR AND THE BENGALS who initiated the effort to postpone the game after Hamlin's injury, not Bargain-Basement Bill Burr and his band of bandits. And without losing a game, they lost the bye and get to play the Bengals instead of the Jaguars in round 2. So let's see them go and beat the Bengals with their gifted homefield advantage, but let us not forget that if they do, it will be the team they would have defeated whose largesse they have to thank for playing next week at home instead of in Cincinnati.
Personally, I'll be rooting for the Bengals to maul them.

I mean, you're both right... right? All three teams can said to have gotten hosed in some way.Buffalo went from the 1 seed to the 2 seed as a result of the game being cancelled. That's not fair, hence the neutral site. As a result of the game being cancelled, Cincinnati went from the 3 seed to...the 3 seed. Hence no neutral site. Cincinnati lost the opportunity to improve their position, while Buffalo lost their position entirely. You can say it's still unfair, but there is a certain logic to it.
Fixed it for you.We were 60 yards yesterday from the Bills being eliminated in what would have been one of the more embarrassing upsets in WC weekend history precisely becausethe NFL’s solution to the canceled game took the bye away from themJosh Allen turned the ball over and the Bills' special teams couldn't contain a Dolphins' punt return lol. I don’t think it’s entirely fair that the Bengals need to go to Buffalo next week, for sure it’s completely possible Cinci would have won that game and then the whole situation is different, but in terms of fairness no one got more screwed than Bye->Jaguars becoming Dolphins->Bengals.
Thank you, this is my point exactly, but stated better and more dispassionately than I did. As for the Bills having to play yesterday instead of a bye, if you play a team without their top RB and top TWO QBs that is forced to start a low drafted rookie on the road in his first playoff game and you struggle, that's on your team, not the NFL.I mean, you're both right... right? All three teams can said to have gotten hosed in some way.
Cincy - Had a chance at the #2 seed by beating Buffalo. And they were, in fact, up 7-3 (obviously way too early to know if they'd win, but they WERE ahead), playing at home. Pretty decent chance they win that game. Instead, they were pushed to the #3 seed through no fault of their own, and @Remagellan is right - it was Zac Taylor who basically made sure the game got postponed. Not that that ought to matter, but still. They did the right thing and got hosed. There was a tiny benefit for Cincy here though - not playing the game clinched the AFCN for them, when a loss would have meant that week 18 vs Baltimore would have been for the division, which obviously would have been important.
Buffalo - Had a chance at the #1 seed by beating Cincy (they'd go on to beat New England the next week). Not only did they lose a bye, they lost HFA for the AFCCG. Huge loss for them. They did benefit, however, by not dropping to the #3 seed with a loss to Cincy, AND if they make the AFCCG vs KC, that game will be played on a neutral site instead of at Arrowhead.
Kansas City - Could have been the #2 seed playing on WC weekend, but instead got to be the #1 seed with a bye. Nice benefit. But they did get hosed a little in that they lost out on HFA in the AFCCG should Buffalo make it there to play them. That's a huge advantage for KC lost. And it was entirely possible that Buffalo was going to lose that game in Cincinnati.
So really, all three teams lost something in the solution the NFL came to, and all three teams gained something. It's hard to say, really, which team benefitted the most, and which team lost the most.
It was a totally crappy situation all the way around, and there was no solution that wouldn't be unfair somehow.
Yes.Was it @The Talented Allen Ripley who had to explain to his wife why they had to wake their kid up in 2004?
This is my view as well. I don’t give a rat’s ass that the Bills have lost in KC two years in a row and I heard over and over again how unfair that would’ve been had they had to travel there again. Yes the Hamlin situation was unfortunate but the team had 16 other games to avoid playing in KC this year and, oh by the way, was losing when the game was called.Thank you, this is my point exactly, but stated better and more dispassionately than I did. Both #1 seed games on Saturday. Do they expect both of those games to suck since both teams are heavily favored?
If you think about the schedule this week, it was the only fair thing to do. Both the Chiefs and Eagles are coming off byes, so no short week for them. The Jags played on Saturday so they get a full week to prepare. The Giants played the Eagles twice this season, as recently as last week, so they shouldn't suffer much from the short week. This is my view as well. Maybe they didn’t “make out like bandits” but it’s hard to disagree that the league is bending over backwards for this Bills team. Changing the OT rule. Insisting on a neutral site for a AFCCG that may not even happen. Romo referring them—so weirdly—multiple times as “the champs” and Allen as “Michael Jordan” in yesterdays game. Would anyone be surprised if this “expedited review” process were to play a decisive role in propelling the Bills to the SB?The whole thing feels like a hype machine.
Speaking of which ….

Most If the CBS sitcoms still have laugh tracks, no? I don’t watch any of those but my in-laws and parents do. So if I’m over there and it’s in the background, I’ll catch it.So I walked away for a few after the finish, but left the TV on…
They still have TV shows with canned laugh-tracks?
Does @John Marzano Olympic Hero know about this?
He probably won’t be worse than Hainsey even if he’s not near 100 percent.Bucs just activated Jensen for today's game... will be curious to see how he plays and how much. Interesting time to make your season debut!

https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/01/16/ravens-john-harbaugh-qb-tyler-huntley-erred-goal-line-fumble“On the quarterback sneak, we felt like we had a good call. It was a push sneak play,” Harbaugh said. “It just wasn’t executed. … Tyler went over the top. It’s a burrow play. Tyler’s gotta go low on that. That’s the way the play’s designed. We felt like that was the best call. We just didn’t execute it right.”
So it looks like blame is being thrown around and around.
Roquan Smith, Ronnie Stanley, Justin Tucker, and Marlon Humphrey.I want to premise this post by saying I hate the Ravens. John Harbaugh has won one playoff game since 2014. The fact that he and that organization get so much love from the national media is bewildering to me. They have had a million comp picks and besides Lamar and Andrews, do they have any other blue-chip players?
And I think the shelf life of Lamar being a blue chip player is dwindling by the day. A big part of his skill set was always never going to age well. And he’s still often mentioned as being in the same group as Mahomes, Herbert, Allen, and now Burrow. The continued over hype by the national media is ridiculous.I want to premise this post by saying I hate the Ravens. John Harbaugh has won one playoff game since 2014. Maybe you read different stuff than I do, but I don’t think anyone has considered Lamar to be in the “best QB in the league” discussion since about midway through the 2020 season. (And not just because that discussion begins and ends with Mahomes.) Lamar is a second-tier guy. If he’s mentioned in the same breath as guys like Herbert and Burrow, that’s because those two aren’t consensus top-tier guys. I definitely haven’t heard anyone suggest recently that Lamar is as good as Josh Allen. And I think the shelf life of Lamar being a blue chip player is dwindling by the day. They have corrected obvious calls down on the field all season. I assume there is an official upstairs but the league never made it public. So these expedited reviews are pretty much a sky judge by a different name.
Can we have these next year during the regular season please?
