Yeah they left him behind in Raleigh while the bus went to the airportDidn't he get unceremoniously dumped by the Panthers as well?
Anaheim would (and has) support its team if it was good. That's who I'm rooting for.I’m going to catch a lot of heat for saying this - but talents like Bedard should go to actual hockey markets.
Philly, Chicago, or (ugh) Montreal would be ok with me. I don’t want this kid toiling away in Arizona or Anaheim where no one will watch him play.
In this draft if you're #2, you're #2.Chicago really screwed up at the end of the season, but they've been rewarded for it.
No one watches west coast games though.Anaheim would support its team if it was good. That's who I'm rooting for.
I read somewhere that the lottery happens in the afternoon. Badly scripted show. How does ESPN know that Columbus dropped to third?

Well, that's a good point. I'm still rooting for the Ducks, though. We'll see.No one watches west coast games though.
Well there you go. I’m looking forward to seeing the kid play.I’m going to catch a lot of heat for saying this - but talents like Bedard should go to actual hockey markets.

I’d rather have those three tbhI knew it was going to be Chicago, just knew it. Still better than Montreal (or Philly or Wash).
Lindros?Has a hockey player ever pulled an Eli?
please happen
Of course it was. Big market team loses it two main gate attractions? Of course they we’re getting Bedard. It’s bad for the league as a business if he goes to Anaheim or god forbid Columbus.I'll be that guy - this was rigged. LoL
Yeah, I'm generally not a conspiracy theorist, but what a perfect Kane replacement.Of course it was. Big market team loses it two main gate attractions? Of course they we’re getting Bedard. It’s bad for the league as a business if he goes to Anaheim or god forbid Columbus.
McDavid to Edmonton is the counterpoint to any accusation of the draft being rigged.Of course it was. Big market team loses it two main gate attractions? Of course they we’re getting Bedard. It’s bad for the league as a business if he goes to Anaheim or god forbid Columbus.
That was 8 years agoMcDavid to Edmonton is the counterpoint to any accusation of the draft being rigged.
I’d argue it’s both. Not to cross sports, but if Aaron Judge played in Milwaukee instead of New York, he wouldn’t be as big a star. Being in a big, East Coast city with the kind of media domination does help drive some of this. The problem has always been how the league markets it’s superstars, not where they play.
Gross. Now I can't root for the kid.Fuck. Chicago wins the lottery.
It would also help the Coyotes:if the NHL was going to fix the lottery it would be for Anaheim or Arizona. Anaheim would be to get a marquee player to the LA market. Arizona would be to further their fools errand of making hockey relevant in the desert.
