I recently built a new PC (https://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?threads/new-pc-integrated-wifi-sucks.39675/) and while the internet issues have gotten a little better with adding a dedicated wireless card that has a better antenna, I'm now facing a new issue that my googling has not been able to find a resolution to for a couple weeks.
Problem Statement - When playing games, my mouse "stutters"which causes the game to "hang" momentarily and for any button presses that were active when the "stutter" occurs to maintain through the length of the stutter.
By far, BG3 has the most frequent occurrences of this symptom with almost every mouse movement requiring multiple attempts to put the pointer where I want it to go. It is almost unplayable and I'm probably going to stop until I can find a resolution as the gameplay is infuriating at best with the mouse issues. The others mentioned above, it's merely annoying (except for FN where it's pretty frustrating as well). Other games I’ve noticed the issue playing: Dave the Diver, Terraforming Mars, Lords of Waterdeep, Brotato, Bloons TD6 (basically every game I've tried since noticing the issue). There are not any games I've found the problem to not occur with. That being said, this behavior does not seem to occur when using Chrome, Discord, Office (Word/Excel/etc) and things like that (** see below). I think it may have happened a couple times, like when editing a Post on SoSH when I hit backspace to delete a character or two, it deleted 8 or 9 instead. If it is happening outside of gaming, it is happening far less often and is barely noticeable. Of note, while a game is running on my main monitor, if I try to browse/chat in discord/etc on my other monitor, the issue occurs at normal “gaming” rates.
I started noticing the issue a few weeks ago and thought it was my mouse (Logitach G602) dying. At the time, the mouse button mappings were starting to not work as well so I replaced the mouse with a Logitach G305. Things seemed better for a while, but that was kind of in the middle of my whole internet/packet loss issue from the other thread so perhaps that was masking it. With that resolved to acceptable margins I recently thought perhaps it was the Bluetooth aspect of the mouse and perhaps there was some interference going on so I picked up a Logitech G502 Hero corded mouse and I’m still seeing the same behavior. I've even tried disabling the new Wifi card I installed and using the Mobo built in one that was giving me the connection problems and that didnt make any difference either.
I googled every mouse “trick” and have tried everything I could find/think of:
I’m about at my wits end so I’m hoping someone here might know some kind of silver bullet for this kind of thing.

Problem Statement - When playing games, my mouse "stutters"which causes the game to "hang" momentarily and for any button presses that were active when the "stutter" occurs to maintain through the length of the stutter.
- Example 1) Playing Fortnite, pressing to W to move forward and stutter occurs, I will continue to move forward even though I may have stopped pressing W and might be trying to move to the side via D or A. While this happening, my "aim" also locks on and I am not able to "mouse look" to aim around.
- Example 2) Playing BG3, while trying to point and click at a specific location the mouse will get partially there and then appear along the path I was moving it (usually much farther along as I didnt have the cursor to use as a guide for where to stop). Similarly, if pressing AWSDQE to either move or spin the camera, if the mouse stutters that move/spin will continue after Ive stopped pressing the key.
- Example 3) Playing Slay the Spire or Roguebook, the mouse will move along the path and stop and then reappear further along the path. As with BG3, if I am attempting to move the camera around the screen via keyboard, it will keep going after I've stopped pressing the key until the mouse "comes back".

I googled every mouse “trick” and have tried everything I could find/think of:
- Turning Off “Scroll inactive windows when hovering over them”
- Turning Off Diisplay Pointer Trails”
- Turning On/Off “Enhanced pointer precision”
- Reducing mouse “report rate” from 100 to 500, to 250, and then 125
- Updating Mouse Drivers
- Updating Windows (11)
- Removing/Reinstalling Mouse/Drivers
- Cleaning Mouse
- Removing all “overlay” background programs (Xbox Game Bar, etc)
- Closing every other program running (Steam, Battlenet, Epic, etc)
I’m about at my wits end so I’m hoping someone here might know some kind of silver bullet for this kind of thing.
