I'm rewatching 36 right now. Two immediate reactions: Pats' physicality and hitting in this game was next level (and in many cases illegal under today's rules, but a great product); and Summerall and Madden were just awesome.
I've always believed that Otis Smith screwed up his INT return and should have scored but have never confirmed this.I'm rewatching 36 right now. I did this as well. My favorite part is Martz's face as the confetti is coming down.I'm rewatching 36 right now. He should have walked into the end zone, no idea how he did not score on that play.I've always believed that Otis Smith screwed up his INT return and should have scored but have never confirmed this.

He absolutely tackled himself with his own DTs ass. Pats had many chances to put this game away up 14-3. Two great chances for INTs prior to the McGinest holding call/Tebucky return. Basically zero offense in the second half prior to the last drive.I've always believed that Otis Smith screwed up his INT return and should have scored but have never confirmed this.
What jumped out to me was how focused on the game they both were. 99.9% of the commentary was about the actual plays happening in real time, yet it was very entertaining. No schticks or faux excitement. It was awesome. I think Aikman has that focus in him but he struggles to be entertaining at the same time. Not Romo. One of the great John Madden moments. As the final drive progresses, he admits he was wrong.
Does anyone think Romo, Aikman or Olsen does that? They likely just ignore and move forward.
Looks like he cut in to avoid the OL, and then maybe Warner trips him? Yah, that's my story, and I'll stick with it.He absolutely tackled himself with his own DTs ass.
