True, but the extra day off for the winners might make for a better ALDSNot going to be any games tomorrow. Disappointing Wild Card round.

Another side note...Doug Glanville, who's doing the color on this game, played that first year and was a team mate of Counsell. These guys were Single and Double A kids.I had not put two and two together — I forgot his big time history as a diamondback. He had a little Pedroia in him as a player — not as good obviously, but a real dirt dog.
Agreed! I like the Dbacks, and Arizona in general.I am pumped for Arizona. They struggled down the stretch, but man this is a fun, fun team to watch.
Why they don't reseed is beyond meBraves kind of get screwed having to play the Phillies next round instead of the Dbacks
They should consider reseeding. It's just less interesting to have two intradivisional playoff series.Braves kind of get screwed having to play the Phillies next round instead of the Dbacks
I was wondering who was doing the game — the other guy keeps calling him Dougie. I was going to look it up after the game. He has been great.Another side note...Doug Glanville, who's doing the color on this game, played that first year and was a team mate of Counsell. These guys were Single and Double A kids.
Was thinking the same thing last night. I know what Jake Burger looks like but he is aptly named. If that was my name, I'd have dog named after fried potato sticks. If you asked me to draw a picture of someone named Jake Burger I would have drawn someone who looks exactly like the real Jake Burger who I have never seen until he made that error.
And this game is over.
There may be 20 people on the planet who love baseball and have as much fun around the game as Doug Glanville, but I would bet the under.I was wondering who was doing the game — the other guy keeps calling him Dougie. I was going to look it up after the game. He has been great.

It's completely obvious, so of course MLB fucks it up.They should consider reseeding. It's just less interesting to have two intradivisional playoff series.
I guess you don’t think his run is all that important. Plus they already used a pinch runner. No pinch runner for Donaldson?
It's over! Go D-Backs!Brewers are brewing...
It ain't over till it's over.
That was kind of a mysterious trade. Why the fuck did the Mariners trade Sewald to Arizona? That was their missing piece. Here he is trying to get his second save and get them to the division series, while the Mariners missed by one game.
Of course, Seward still has work to do here.

The biggest problem with Jerry Dipoto’s quotes from Tuesday, when he said, “We’re actually doing the fanbase a favor by asking for their patience to win the World Series while we continue to build a sustainably good roster,” is not that he spoke at all. That was kind of a mysterious trade.
I think just they’re just pretty amped and need time to think about the questionWhy do all these ballplayers star the answer to every question with "Yeah..." and then the answer?

The other was the Cubs in Games 6 & 7 of the 2003 NLCS against the Marlins.
Maybe he really is too smart for the room and it pays off in 2027 or whatever. And the Dbacks probably aren’t beating the Dodgers and Braves. But, fuck — at least they are trying and have developed a really strong identity. The biggest problem with Jerry Dipoto’s quotes from Tuesday, when he said, “We’re actually doing the fanbase a favor by asking for their patience to win the World Series while we continue to build a sustainably good roster,” is not that he spoke at all.

As bad as 2003 was for us, I think it was worse for the Cubs.View: https://twitter.com/baseball_ref/status/1709749780241670600?s=46
Scotts Grandslam was only the second post season grandslam in PHI history.

Yeah. I am still really excited about the future that Chaim set up, but postseason baseball is a reminder that I should be pretty okay that he got fired. It would be nice for the new GM to pick up a relief pitcher that can throw 100 mph. Just for the hell of it. Seems like everyone else has one.
That Philly crowd is great. Miss that kind of atmosphere at Fenway.
