Ok question about this: How much time does the defense have to sub after the offense subs? Let's say the offense subs with 15 left on the play clock. Can the defense take their sweet time (feigning confusion even) getting their subs in such that the play clock runs out (or the offense has to burn a time out)? It seemed like Texas didn't exactly rush that there.
Depends entirely on the judgment of the Referee if they are reacting promptly enough. Probably would be a delay of game offense in the scenario you described.

I’ve seen Rs drop the substitution protection when the defense goes too slow though, and it’s amazing how much faster they get when they realize they’re at risk for an illegal sub flag.

I thought Penix was supposed to be a statue who can't move in the pocket?

I've just never seen anything called on the defense in these situations, but I've seen numerous offensive delay of game penalties or times where the offense has to use a time out.

The offenses in this game are at another level compared to what we saw earlier.

This is the best game I've seen from Penix in terms of showing he could play in the NFL, pocket movement has been very good

I'm watching him and I think - he's a good (not top notch, but good) athlete who can move in the pocket and he has an incredibly accurate (and strong) arm.

Let's say Penix plays himself into the first round (he may already have been there, I don't know). You don't spend the #3 pick on him, but might the Pats draft MHJ or trade down from #3 and get Penix later and then add draft capital?

Penix gets away with stuff you could never do in the NFL. There have been like three plays tonight where he turns his back to the defense, which you never have time to do, and some of his side step evasion would get him hit right in the midsection by NFL defensive linemen.

Although, as it turns out, I really have no idea what the fuck I am talking about. But that’s how it looks to me.

I still wouldn't consider him before the 2nd, maybe mid-2nd. He's got a lot of flaws in his game, he's on the older side for a rookie and he's got serious medical concerns (which could make him undraftable to some teams).

How are you analyzing him as just a good athlete? From what I’m looking at, the guy is incredibly gifted.

That last TD is an easy INT in the NFL

Penix is listed as 6’3 213lbs
Jayden Daniels is listed as 6’4 210.
That’s hard to believe. Daniels looks more slight compared to Penix who looks to be a bit more filled out
