    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

Sure, certainly unfair, but the implied remedy (at least Carlisle's implication) of intentionally screwing up the double dribble call to be consistent seems silly to me. What was unfair was that they got the kickball wrong. It was just a crap call and they didn't expend the energy to fix it.

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

I'm old enough and butthurt enough to still remember a deciding 2nd round playoff game 6 from about a decade ago between these very same Knicks and Pacers. The Knicks lost 106-99, and in the process shot 18 free throws. The Pacers shot 46 free throws. Yes, that was a more perimeter-oriented...

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

Well, clearly they got that kickball call wrong. Maybe no other ref saw it well enough to overturn, or maybe being in MSG caused them to not conference, or maybe they had money on game 1. Why don't they conference and fix every incorrect call? In the end, Hartenstein didn't double dribble, and...

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

Only 49? Are they sure there weren't 1200, counting microaggressions? Carlisle didn't seem to be upset until they conferenced and waived a double-dribble that clearly didn't happen. He immediately went on to get 2 techs after that, which combined with the usual intentional fouls at the end of...

    5/8: Arrighetti vs. Rodon

Soto, Judge, and to his usual inconsistent degree Stanton are ripping 110 mph liners with unusual frequency right now. This is the potential of the lineup

Brunson - McConnell was like 2 ponies in heat. I'd watch that again

He can leave Haliburton out there, McConnell should be in for Nembhard anyway

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

Brunson initiates a lot of it but there's usually an enormous amount of contact between him and whoever is defending him. The Brunson / McConnell battle was amazing, they were basically riding each other back and forth across the court. Carlisle being too zen to break glass and use McConnell in...

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

They immediately felt OG's absence there at the end with Toppin basically galloping around untouched. He was fragile even pre-Thibs, so who knows

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

He certainly contributes to it, but I'm obligated to list the injuries here for the record: - Randle had a shoulder dislocation from being hit on a drive - Bogdanovic had his foot stepped on / tangled up with Batum's while diving for a loose ball in his 1st minute of play - Robinson was...

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

I personally think it was just the NBA equivalent of a "lazy" call. I was watching that play somewhat distractedly on a small screen, and in realtime I assumed it was probably a kickball just given it had some of the usual makings of one (although honestly the letter of the law means it...

    (2) New York Knicks vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 2024 EC Second Round

I will say, in the prior series with the 76ers the L2M report for multiple games did call out the officiating on game-deciding plays without seeming to try to balance it in the other direction. In this case, seems like less so. They were never going to reverse course on that illegal screen call...

Whoever called that the NBA would do forensic grade analysis to find a missed 3 seconds call on Indiana nailed it.

    5/7: Verlander vs. Gil

Judge's AB against Verlander in the 3rd there was really good. Took all of the right pitches, and fouled off 2 tough fastballs at the very top of the zone to stay alive. I don't often see him having ABs like that off of righties that can locate fastball and breaking pitches
