Game 7 - Montreal @ Boston - Protect the Civic

I went there for the Pats season opener last year, and it had about 5 people there 10 minutes before kickoff, so headed to Tripoli to find about 150+ there in Pats gear. No idea how this thread took a turn to Boston sports bars in Chicago, but here's to getting it back on track.

Game 7 - Montreal @ Boston - Protect the Civic

You must mean 1.5 miles right? Tripoli Tap is the big one right in Lincoln Park on Armitage. That's where I'll be tonight, they're the only show in town for Boston sports and they're always packed for big games. Great atmosphere.

Round 2: Bruins vs. That Team Up North

It was mentioned previously that Bell Centre was previously booked Mon/Wed, so if this is true it would probably set up for games 3 and 4 Tues/Thurs in Montreal, with game 5 if needed being Saturday at the Garden. I can dig that schedule.

With Notre Dame finishing off Michigan, Yale sneaks in as the last at-large bid. USCHO and College Hockey News have slightly different bracket predictions out there, mostly revolving around whether North Dakota and Boston College go to Providence or Grand Rapids. Personally I think the USCHO...

Notre Dame advances to the CCHA final tomorrow with a 3-1 win over Ohio State. They are in the odd position of possibly landing a 1 seed, yet haven't clinched an NCAA berth at the moment. If they beat Michigan tomorrow, they could land a 1 seed, whereas if they lose to Miami, they are on the...

I wouldn't put it at pretty safe. At the moment, even disregarding the likelihood now that Niagara will lose and create another AHA autobid team sneaking in, if Wisconsin loses in the final, they're looking at these PWR odds according to Jim Dahl going into today. Looking like 56% if no one...

http://blog.siouxsports.com/2013/03/18/2143/   Super useful link that shows each team's probability of making the dance, probability for each seed, and how their fates this weekend will affect their seed probabilities.

A pretty interesting wrinkle is if Michigan can win out at the Joe and sneak into the tournament as an auto-bid (most likely as the #16 overall seed, but a 4 seed undoubtedly). Since they are the hosts of the Grand Rapids regional, they'd have to be placed there and would draw a #1 seed most...

That Michigan series should be great. Racine and Michigan are playing much better, but they have to go away to Lawson, where WMU has been nearly unbeatable this year. Western has been having some trouble scoring as of late, but they did take 3 of 4 from Michigan, outscoring them 12-6 during the...

Yeah, sounds like BU will probably have to win the semifinal to get in, though the Merrimack thing could complicate that.   I've always wondered why Hockey East doesn't hold a 3rd place game like every other conference. It's helped other teams in the past sneak in as at larges if they falter in...

This week's Bracketology is up: http://www.uscho.com/bracketology/2013/03/06/two-weeks-out-and-attendance-bracket-integrity-fall-in-line/     Due to Umass-Lowell's rise in the PWR, and some WCHA bands in the 2-3 matchup, it's looking more and more likely that QU/BC/UML/UNH will be getting the...

I remember the Ft. Wayne regional though, where Miami beat Michigan in that controversial 2OT game, and attendance was not outstanding for an equally close regional. They were a #1 seed that year as well, and the regional final between Michigan and Miami only drew about 3,200 in a ~10,000 seat...

If you look at KRACH instead of RPI, then Miami's SOS jumps to 26th, Minnesota's to 27th, and QU's to 33rd. So there's other ways to look at it, but yeah it's clear Minnesota has the tougher part of their schedule still remaining.   As for QU, they do have that great record against TUC's, but it...

Quinnipiac is a deserving team no doubt, and they'll probably take over the spot if/when Minny trips up against a good St. Cloud squad, but head and shoulders the best team in the country right now is a little dubious. They're one of the best, but there's no team right now with the resume above...

Same for Miami. I don't think anyone's too scared of UMass Lowell or Union after drawing BC what seems like every friggin year. Lowell's below .500 their last 10 games, and Union is only 1-2-3 against tourney teams with a crap schedule. I have a feeling we might see another rematch in the Frozen...
