yeah--thought it was gone. Then thought it was going to be caught. Glad it got the wall--and Devers read it well

sure looked like a squeeze job. Glad it didn't hurt Winckowski for now

good to see Cooper back in there. Hopefully Dalbec can't get to the voodoo doll as easily when he is in the lineup himself

May: Red Sox discussion, observations and trend tracking...AKA It's not all about the Benjamins

on Cooper, Chris Cotillo says (not sure this is new info): "FWIW: Heard from a source this morning that Garrett Cooper is just bruised and is going to be OK after that hit by pitch." View: https://twitter.com/ChrisCotillo/status/1785709286380671384

Yes, Abreu has won the job and has been great. He deserves to start for the foreseeable future. I hope Cooper is back soon and that Grissom can play soon. The lineup could start to look quite solid with starting OF of O'Neill-Duran-Abreu, IF of Devers-Raffaela-Grissom-Cooper, and Wong-McGuire...

Beat the Giants today Avril 30

hope to see Grissom soon. Glad to see Cooper in (but not rooting against Dalbec! or Valdez for that matter! may more of those hard hit 350' plus balls start finding grass--or even better start going off or over walls)

Sox to trade for Garrett Cooper, Pablo Reyes DFA’d

seems like Valdez could at least have some upside. Hamilton hasn't shown much. I liked him last year, but Reyes has been really bad this year and is 4-5 years older than either of the other guys. Makes sense to me to do it this way, though I'd shed no tears over Hamilton being DFAd either

How do you solve a problem like Yoshida?

agreed-but how's he supposed to hit when he never plays? he finally showed some signs of life but then sat for several games. I can understand why Yoshida has been out, especially when Devers has to DH but it's frustrating as I was hoping Yoshida was finally (perhaps) going to get going. I...

    Anxiety is Good for You

agreed, that lineup confused me (though I liked hearing Fred Lynn of the Red Sox announced as one of the formidable batters). Also, how was Lasorda ever that thin? was that part of the Fantasy Island plot too?

Flush It and Get Over It!

*some* reps. I am pretty sure I have seen other reporting saying Grissom will be staying mainly at 2B though don't have it handy at the moment

March/April: Red Sox discussion, observations and trend tracking...AKA It's not all about the Benjamins

good question. I am not sure. I remember hearing that Casas would tell umpires that he yells out "ball" not to show up the ump but just as a tool he uses. He's obviously an unusual guy--not that this is a bad thing, but I could see umpires might not like it, even when he provides his...

March/April: Red Sox discussion, observations and trend tracking...AKA It's not all about the Benjamins

agreed, but I'd also note that at least 2 of the Sox Ks were on terrible calls against Casas and Dalbec. The Casas call was especially tough as it was in a big situation with one out and runners at 2nd and 3rd. Great job for Sox to win in spite of that. Hopefully Casas stops getting hosed on...
