Wow, a Michigan fan is skeptical that anyone would leave their beloved program? Lol.

Sure, given that you seem so certain I am sure you would be up for long odds given the specificity of the bet. 50--1? I would go with you on that. If you want to knock it down to "Harbaugh leaves Michigan after the 2017 season or before" I would take that at 3-1 and go pretty big.
I actually said nothing about whether Harbaugh was likely to leave the program or not and actually think the odds of his departure are pretty good. I just can't see Indy as a destination for him given the fact that Irsay is a meddling clown and he left San Francisco pretty much because he found the GM there to be a meddling clown.

So I guess no bet about Indy, which is fine.

I offered you a bet. You walked away.

It is a very specific bet and it has certain factors about which I don't know e.g. I don't know the buyout for his contract after this season, and it seems likely that the Colts may do an overhaul this January. "Harbaugh to the Colts" will be a sports talk discussion on major networks and sites before Halloween this season.

Your "counter" of needing 50-1 odds to accept a bet about a topic that you first broached is simply ridiculous. Your second counter (about whether Harbaugh would leave Michigan for any reason over a two year period) isn't something that makes sense given that I actually tend to agree with you.

I get that you are trying to provoke me because I'm a Michigan fan, and perhaps that's what I get for wandering into a thread about tOSU. We'll leave it at that.

I guess you don't understand the way bets are made. I am sorry about that kid. Given that you think that he is going to leave the Wolverines, why do you feel he won't go to the Colts. And "BECAUSE I HATEY HATE THE COLTS!!!!! " isn't really an answer.

I understand the way bets are made and I tried to offer you one as entertainment. You decided instead to make it a dick-measuring contest followed by changing the terms to an alternative that I never even discussed.

As to why I don't think Harbaugh will go to the Colts, I'll direct you five posts up:

BTW, like yourself, I'm an Eagles fan. So I'm not sure where the "HATEY HATE THE COLTS" nonsense comes from. I do know you love to troll Pats fans so I'm guessing you just assumed I was one of them. Sorry to disappoint.

So what was the term that you wanted? A straight up bet on a very specific outcome? Again, you need to learn how bets work. It is the difference between betting "I will bet that team X" will win and "I will bet that team X will win by a score of...."

Irsay is not a meddling clown. He is an alcoholic and a prescription drug abuser, and he is certainly not the most moral of guys you would ever want to meet....oh, and his father was a scumbag*. He has done some wacky stuff as an owner in terms of his twitter account, and getting very emotional over Manning's return et al, but he doesn't have a rep for fucking with the coach or the players. If anything, he provides his coaches and GMs with a ton of support. As I noted, the word on the street is that he and Harbaugh still have a good relationship from Harbaugh's playing days. Irsay isn't going to keep Harbaugh from Indianapolis.

*There may be some correlation between these facts.

I'll bet Meyer leaves Ohio before Harbaugh leaves Michigan. Just as an FYI, odds bore me.

Yes, who does the university president think he is?

Or is there an anti-Urban faction in the faculty? It exists everywhere football rules the campus.
I think you are overstating this. Meyer simply said he disagreed with the decision, which is reasonable with many violations of Student Code of Conduct. He didn't challenge the authority of the administration at all, he just felt that the facts were misinterpreted, leading to an erroneous penalty. That is not unreasonable. This is far from a coach trying to cover up a football player beating kids up around campus.

6) Michigan doesn't have enough talent to win the Big 10 this season and it seems unlikely that they will do so next season. The alumni at Michigan - like many schools, including tOSU - err on the side of delusional expectations. If Harbaugh has another 3 loss season and loses big to tOSU again he is going to start to hear criticism. At Stanford they were thrilled with 3 loss seasons. At Michigan.....not so much.
Undefeated Iowa and Michigan State played for the Big 10 championship last year. You sound very scared of Harbaugh and Michigan.

Yammer, this could be a fun thread to visit this season if you lighten up and appreciate that we are all college football fans here. My history with Ohio State football goes back to the 1970s, back when John Galbreath owned a vast horse farm outside of Columbus that employed half the football team in the summer, paying them $20 bucks to allegedly paint white fences. Every big-time football power had a generous alum or ten like Mr. Galbreath.

I met Woody in 1975 and he was a scary dude to a young sports writer. But fair. So my memories of OSU are more about him and all the great players who come thru that school, year after year. If Penn State beats them once every five years, that is about right. Woody was bigger than the university president for two decades but he finally overstepped his bounds. Urban is too smart to think he can challenge the president.

Michigan is a very impressive football school, too. I think it's good that the rivalry is getting cranked up again. We should enjoy the season, no matter the outcome.

Unless it has been written about elsewhere on the site, I would be interested in hearing some more about your 70s-era Big 10 football stories. It was a pretty interesting period, with some larger than life characters all around.

Woody is a fascinating character. My father had some kind of run in with Woody when he ran track at the Shoe for one of the state meets and has hated tOSU ever since (he and my mom are OU alums). My grandfather and my uncle, on the other hand, both met Woody on a handful of occasions and definitely drank the Kool Aid on the guy. We were watching the game when he punched the kid from Clemson and my father spent the entire night saying that he had finally been proven right. It was awkward, I can't lie.

I always felt that Schembechler and Hayes epitomized the "bigger than the school" baloney that has been a part of college football since the dawn of time, but tOSU handles the incident perfectly. In the end, as you are very well aware, so much worse was happening down in State College with a guy who seemed like the salt of the earth.

Well, it was close, but we managed to beat in-state rivals Bowling Green. Needless to say, punk-ass bitch Jim Harbaugh embarrassed himself by assaulting his quarterback on the sideline. They don't arrest you in Michigan for that because Michigan can't even figure out "drinking water" so assaulting a kid named after a ritzy town in Connecticut won't attract much attention.

Not only did we win on the field today, but we won in the "class" department. Another national championship for the Bucks there I think.

I never like to say that any game is a must-win, but this week is a must-win for the Bucks. Why? Because I really like laughing at Michigan fans about the Appalachian State loss and if we were to lose a tune up game like this it would be less funny for me personally. And no one wants that, Buckeye fans deserve to be happy. We are good people who are kind to others.

So yada yada yada, we need to win this, something something something national title implications, etc.

I'd like to announce that for this week, and this week only, the OSU in my name stands for Ohio State instead of Oklahoma State. In return I would like tOSU to beat the snot out of the dirt burglars.

Jesus fucking Christ is Jim Harbaugh insane.

A few weeks ago the guy nearly commits felony assault on his own quarterback - does the NCAA say anything? No.

This week he basically does something as dangerous as driving drunk through a school zone by PLAYING CATCH WITH TOM BRADY WHERE BRADY WAS CATCHING THE BALL DIRECTLY!!!! Hey asshole, you may not remember what it was like to be a QB BUT BRADY"S HANDS ARE HIS LIVELIHOOD!!! THERE IS A REASON WHY QBs have other guys catching the ball and handing it to them when they warm up!!!!!!

Jim Harbaugh may think it is funny to ruin the Michigan football program, but now that he is risking the future career of NFL QBs - even ones who are suspended - I feel that the joke has gone too far. Brady's somewhat tenuous connection to Michigan is no reason to punish the guy. It's time for our nation to stand up to the stench that is Jim Harbaugh.

Sidebar - good chance the Colts are 0-2 after this weekend.

I direct your attention to the southeast, to State College, Pennsylvania.
I'm afraid that I can't even joke about those sleazebuckets. I live on the far eastern edge of Penn State territory and I can honestly tell you, after what the university did last weekend I can't respect anyone who wears those colors.

Michigan fans are assmunching dirt weasels, most are convicted felons, all are delusional, whiny and pathetic.

Penn State fans root for a program that didn't just turn a blind eye towards indecency, but rather ENABLED Sandusky's assaults on multiple children, multiple Pennsylvania residents.

So in a battle of Meyer vs one of his ex-assistants Urban played it classy and kept the margin of victory under 59. That is the way an elite program handles itself, no need to go to 5 dozen, keep it mellow.

Michigan limped past Wisconsin, generally playing terribly and depending on the refs to hand them the game. In addition, Jim Harbaugh had a non-chain restaurant meal before the game and as a result he crapped his pants on the field in the third quarter. Shameful really.
