Karlsson puts Ottawa up 2-1 with a shot from the corner off Hank's back with under four minutes to play.

Washington dominated the last 25 minutes or so possession wise but the Pens found a way to steal one they needed.

It's ok, their arena is far from downtown. Notice how tough it is for the Pats to sell out Gillette

Ottawa will probably get smoked by whoever comes out of the Pens/Caps series. Rangers don't really have much of a chance. You need to be able to move the puck from the back end against the Sens. Defensemen who can skate and distribute the puck through the trap. Bruins couldn't do it and the Rangers have a bottom 3 defense group in the league and can't do it either. Girardi did make a sweet pass to Pageau on his first goal though.

They are not the first team to play that style and your right they won't be the last. Today's game as well as the previous one were, however, very exciting contests.

That replay from behind Guentzel on his goal was incredible.

You can out-possess them, out-shoot them, and out-chance them, but it's hard to out-score them.

Dammit, Crosby rocked with a concussion, Niskanen ejected with 5 and a game for a crosscheck to the head. I think it's a questionable call, but Ovechkin didn't even get a penalty when he ended Carlo's season so what do I know.

I thought it was questionable, too. Crosby fell into the hit. But looking at the replay, he really did kind of hammer his head when he had the chance.

Slow motion makes it look way worse than it really was. At full speed, it's just a natural reaction (but should still be 2 mins for hitting him in the head).

Crosby looked stunned from Ovechkin's stick to the helmet before Niskanen even touched him. At best very careless from both of them. Ugly looking play.

edit: Upon further review, that's a garbage 2 hander from Ovechkin even if he meant to get his arm. It takes a lot for me to root for the Penguins, but here we are

Man, watch that again. As Crosby falls, he HAMMERS him with the elbow, right to the head. It wasn't a two handed push, it was an elbow. It was a natural reaction but he certainly didn't pull the punch.

I take it back, I saw the replay from the other angle. He hammered him with a crosscheck, right to the face.

That was beyond dirty. No two ways about it.

Niskanen has been working over Crosby with sticks all series - finally got the mission accomplished tonight

I'm sure it's also just a coincidence they dressed seven defensemen tonight.

No goal here.

Oh?

And yes, Trotz dressed 7 D so his best D could take Crosby's head off and get ejected.

Odd to me that you're allowed to run into the keeper and it's an ok goal.

edit: oh..I guess it wasn't an ok goal.
