I just realized that tonight is the Wisconsin-area's version of Boston's Sunday night. Big playoff game as well as a feature NFL game for their football team. Cheeseheads forever!
I have a couple of Wisconsin buddies who reminded me of that today. I wished them a Boston Sunday on their cheesehead Monday.

And lo, they pull out the football end of the double-header with an epic drive led by their all-time great QB ending in chip-shot FG at the buzzer to win a crazy back-and-forth shootout.

Starting Wednesday, they also have a young, green-clad NBA team showing all sorts of promise going into the season.

This may be one of the best sports weeks of the year. Baseball playoffs, NFL in full swing and some other sports starting up too.

Just saying, I hate calling a guy a "corpse."
I know it's just hyperbole, but it bugs me.
And if you had been watching their games, both of those players have had very good years. But who expected them to get past the super-hyped Cubs? No one. Which makes it delicious.
Hyperbole and sarcasm are fun. Christ.

Who did MIL have left if Jeffress gave up a few more hits? I thought Counsell totally overmanaged those last two innings but I don't follow MIL closely enough to really know.

Woodruff was up in the pen. Pitched 3 scoreless as the Opener in Game 1 of the NLDS and 2 scoreless in Game 1 of the NLCS.

Machado is a loser. Step back in and swing dude. Especially the day after you owned being lazy.

Smoltz going on and on about how the shift will end up hurting a team because a hitter might beat it with a ball off the end of the bat.

Great analysis. Meanwhile, how many hits is the shift preventing in these games? Obviously quite a few.

Smoltz: "I know what the numbers say about bunting, but I would do it."

Well, okay.

Smoltz isn't horrible but he says some terribly stupid things sometimes. So, in other words, he is the same as me or your average SoSH poster. Or simply a human being

Pete Davidson into the stands with a nice catch. Old Man Soria gets outs. Playoff baseball is amazing in terms of how guys can eek out every ounce of what they have left to try to win.

Love Smoltz’s point on the pop up. In a tie game in the 8th you totally trade a runner who is unlikely to score from first on a double with two out for a much faster runner.

Did he make contact with the ground before the bag? I think he might not have but it was very close.

I wonder how hard it is for Hader not to shout “Yeah, boy!” After strikeouts like that.

Is it just me, or is MIL onto something with the way they toe into the front of the 1B bag on ground balls?
