Lots of people are saying to focus on weapons and Damn the consequences, but one of the things I always appreciated about Bill over the years was that he always seemed to have a plan. The plan was usually to make sure they were adding certain guys at certain positions each year so that when guys came off their rookie contracts they could be replaced or extended. He always took a big picture approach to the roster, warts and all. I always felt that that was a huge reason why he tended to do pretty well under the cap system compared to lots of teams. We could afford to let the flowers of the world go because we had someone to replace them. Even this year due to the massive injuries we saw guys like sow, mafi, and Andrews pressed into duty a year or two early on the o-line. If you think about it sow will be our rg this year, Andrews will likely replace Andrews next year and mafi is depth. It wasn't sexy in any way but it worked damn well for 20 years.
