So what jumped out at me in reading this is that... aren't the criticism of Drake Maye basically the same as this? Bad mechanics and a tendency to bail from the pocket? (I'm not suggesting you were making this analogy or that Mahomes success predicts that Maye will succeed or anything dumb like that, but it is sort of funny.)
I think the obvious thing to say here concerning Polk is that Wolf is looking for certain things in WRs and you are looking for different things, and so you obviously don't like the guy they took. In particular, Wolf isn't looking for burners and you are. So, for better or worse, there is no way you are ever going to like what the Pats do at WR as long as Wolf is running the show.
The tackle position is more concerning, but, again, Wolf and the Pats were high on this player - it sounds like they considered trying to move back for him specifically, but then decided the safer course was just to take him. So, even though it looked like a "we missed the run and need to grab someone here" situation it was not quite that.
Overall, I'm ecstatic about what the Pats did at QB, satisfied at WR (I'm more inclined to trust Wolf than you, and I think Polk + Baker is a nice mix of going for immediate help and rolling the dice on a risker player with upside), worried about T. So, I'd go B+ as a grade.
