Those Luka clips are super damming. If you can’t bother trying in the last minute of a playoff game…

It’s like Luka has no experience on how to play with 5 fouls. I don’t even know what that was espeically how awesome him and that team has defended since trade deadline. So weird.

He really doesn't. He had all of two games this year with 5 fouls, one of which was against Boston in which he picked up his 5th foul in the final minute with the game no longer in doubt.

As @Euclis20 said, he actually didn't ever play with 5 fouls this year. I'm guessing that the playoffs is the first time he's been trying enough on D to even pick up fouls.

Right….but at some point in his career he’s played with 2 in the first half or 4 in the 3Q or even 5 at some point.

My immediate though was of the Seinfeld episode when Kramer was getting fired from the job he didn’t even work when the boss said, “It’s almost as if you have no business training at all.”

"Let me be honest here, Luka: you might be more than just one tweak away from a healthy relationship with defense"

For all his praise, ty lue is dogshit at the emotional part of coaching. Getting guys "up" to meet the moments.

Fuck, Kyrie is so good.
Was coming here to say that previous foul call against him may have been the worst call I’ve ever seen and it took place right in front of the ref. He dove for the ball, deflected the ball without any contact with the opponent…then the opposing player lands on him. Lol

Paul George in a game the team needs him to lead, 8 shots.

Definition of his entire run with the clippers. No heart. A complete coward when it comes to any adversity. Have fun in philly with that other whiny loser that shrivels when the lights get bright.

4 points in the third quarter so far.

Stupid enough to give Kawhi an extension so we're stuck with him but Lue and PG can both take a walk.

George and Hardin have been god awful.
Product of the Mavs defense? They had the best defense in the league over the final two months of the season, yes even with Doncic and Kyrie, since after the trades that shaped this team. PJ and the two-headed center completely changed how this team plays where everyone knows their roles. They are going to be a problem for whoever gets in their way to meet the Celtics.

Imagine how Grant Williams will feel with that matchup of the two teams who wanted nothing to do with him? Ouch

I'm sorry, HRB but this isnt some high level shit. Sometimes ball just comes down to toughing the fuck up in big games. Paul George has MADE 4 shots in a game where no one would fault him for going full Kobe 11-43.

This is pathetic.

Dallas’ defense has been doing this to everyone for over two months now. You called this with Kawhi but even before that it was like this team took their foot off the gas after that huge stretch that had them as the 1-seed for like a day.

Mavs looking solid though still don’t know if they have enough outside of Luka and Kyrie. The rest of the offense is so limited.

I for one happy the Lakers, Warriors, Suns, and (maybe) Clippers are going home so early.

Those vet teams got so much press and it felt like everyone was overlooking the younger/better teams. OKC, Den , and Minn were the best teams all year in the West, glad they proved it.

They aren’t supposed to and will be decided underdogs to do so but I’ve been on them at a great price. The thing with them is that the defense will be there but to get by the top teams they need both Luka and Kyrie to be on their game.

Absolutely not. The Clippers haven't exactly been world beaters without Kawhi, acting like the Mavs are suddenly juggernauts is ridiculous. Kyrie goes on these heaters sometimes. Luka is hobbled and the rest of that team scares no one.
It’s not just the Clippers. They won 16 of 18 at the end of the regular season which was the best record in the league with the best defense in the league during that stretch. They are peaking at the right time.

On Harden, this is who he is in the playoffs. One game he'll look like an all-NBA player, the next he's either shooting his team out of the game or flat out disappearing. Last year against Boston in game 1 he went 17-30 for 45 points, games 2 and 3 he went 2-14 and 3-14 for 12 and 16 points, respectively. In this series, he was 12-17 for 33 points in game 4 and tonight he's 2-12 for 7 points. His act is just completely untenable in the playoffs as the 1st or 2nd option.

I'm hesitant to kill the Clippers too much for this (George's performance is no surprise either) because without Kawhi, this series shouldn't even be close. If Kawhi were playing, they'd be much better able to weather poor or invisible performances from their other stars. It doesn't excuse how they've built this team, but it does mitigate their play tonight.

Saw this on Twitter:

"Just call James Harden 'Boeing' because he put up a 7/4/7 and he is killing everyone!"

I don't see this series as really anything more than the Clippers are just too damn old. Not everyone ages like Lebron. Harden is almost 35, has a million miles on his pudgy little body and simply disappears at times, because that's what old HOF'ers do. They find lightning in a bottle for a game, maybe two, but the rest of the time, they look like their age. It's the same with Westbrook, who is 35, and Paul George is 34, and two full years older than Kyrie, and they're all almost 10 years older than Luka.

If the ages were reversed, and Luka was Harden's age, and Westbrook was 32 and Paul George was 32, would anyone bet the Mavs?

I think OKC runs this Mavs team off the court, personally, at least I'm hoping for it.
