Cooper Criswell, who really has been very good the last couple of starts, goes for the Medias Rojas on this May 5. Let’s salvage the last game of the series.
No hay politica en el tablero principal! (OK, my high-school "Spanish" yielded nothing. That is from Google Translate.)Yeah, let’s get one win.
Today is election day in Panama and I don’t see my country winning regardless of who gets elected.
No planeo hablar de politica aqui, solo digo lo que pasa. Pero acepto el regañoNo hay politica en el tablero principal! (OK, my high-school "Spanish" yielded nothing. That is from Google Translate.)
Geaux, Sox!
Yeah, we made the carnitas along with David Ortiz' beans and rice, etc., on a cold, rainy day yesterday here in Silicon Valley. Nicer day today.Chicken chili verde with queso fresco, sour cream and chopped scallions, blue corn tortilla chips with guac, margaritas and Medias Rojas are on the menu for this cold, damp day. VENCER A LOS GEMELOS!!!!
Sounds yummy. Our weather's been great the past few days, mid-high 70s and sunny, today we're looking at a high of 50 with light rain all day. I had a bunch of guys over for poker last night. The chili verde was well received and the leftovers will be perfect as we watch Los Medias take it to Los Gemelos.Yeah, we made the carnitas along with David Ortiz' beans and rice, etc., on a cold, rainy day yesterday here in Silicon Valley. It still stings. Having Eck helped but Youk, god bless him, just ain't filling the shoes for me.I miss Jerry Remy.
They should get Merloni onto NESN. He has the Boston charm. It still stings. Having Eck helped but Youk, god bless him, just ain't filling the shoes for me.
The offense of the past few seasons has been very hit and miss and I think we see this continuing this year. O'Neill, Abreu, Duran and the catching combo have been better than hoped and I expect them all to regress a bit. I don't expect Cooper and Brown to replace Casas' potential production and don't expect a lot from Rafaela.Maybe the offense can show up
Is Cooper and/or Brown really better than Dalbec? The offense of the past few seasons has been very hit and miss and I think we see this continuing this year. I've never seen anyone actually try to compare a head-cold to ebola. . .but this is close. Is Cooper and/or Brown really better than Dalbec?
What if it’s a man cold?I've never seen anyone actually try to compare a head-cold to ebola. . .but this is close.
100% I think he's done well since joining NESN and continues to get better. I feel that he can be very Remy like in that he's a local son, who played in Boston has a feel for the organization and the fan base, presents an honest POV and does so without trying to be a Remy clone. Having him in the booth is VERY comfortable for me as a viewer. I'm not a huge OB fan, but I'm not as down on him as most here. I would love to somehow see Mike Monaco get into the booth more frequently and one day replace O'Brien. Him as the PBP guy and Lou getting a full time gig as the color man would be my ideal team. If you want to rotate Youk and Middlebrooks (my preference) on a limited basis as a third voice that's fine. Youk does present some good commentary, but being the third man in might calm him down a bit. They should get Merloni onto NESN. He has the Boston charm.
I think Monaco + Merloni (Youk/Middlebrooks) is clearly the best combo in their stable. DiNardo is really growing on me in the studio as well.100% I think he's done well since joining NESN and continues to get better. Not scolding, joking.Scolding accepted.
Sorry. I'm not sure where Brown came from, I meant Smith. The fact that I couldn't even remember his name and prefer him to Dalbec says something LOL. The fact that he played in 153 games last year, hit .254 and struck out 91 times and that Copper played in 123 games and hit .251 with an OPS of .724 has me pretty hopeful that optioning Dalbec was the correct move.Is Cooper and/or Brown really better than Dalbec?
I've always felt that Lenny was pretty good in the studio. Much like Wake, he's better pre and post than in the booth.I think Monaco + Merloni (Youk/Middlebrooks) is clearly the best combo in their stable. DiNardo is really growing on me in the studio as well.
Bobby launched one today at Worcester 444 feet. JFC. Where was that when he was up?Is Cooper and/or Brown really better than Dalbec?
He and Valdez are now both over .900 OPS there. And Romy Gonzalez is over 1.000.Bobby launched one today at Worcester 444 feet. JFC. Where was that when he was up?
Are the pitchers who are pitching to them likely to be of MLB quality? He and Valdez are now both over .900 OPS there. And Romy Gonzalez is over 1.000.
Perhaps they are perfectly implementing Peter Fatse's AAAA batting strategies. Are the pitchers who are pitching to them likely to be of MLB quality?
That's about the only thing you will like. It's Angel Hernandez.I like this umpire's strike call. Quick, straight up in the air.
I think the bigger issue is that Bobby's head isn't MLB quality. Are the pitchers who are pitching to them likely to be of MLB quality?
Let's play, guess the number of arguments and ejections. That's about the only thing you will like. It's Angel Hernandez.
Buckle in.That's about the only thing you will like. It's Angel Hernandez.
Oh shit. I did not know. That's about the only thing you will like. It's Angel Hernandez.
DON'T BREAK PROTOCOL!!!This Sox lineup could be no-hit today.
Somewhere Pete Fatse enters the digits on a spreadsheet.103.2 exit velocity
He would have revealed himself to you. It's only ever a matter of time with that guy.Oh shit. I did not know.
Not that he’s in the same category, but I don’t think anybody ever tried to get Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle or Reggie Jackson to cut down on their swings or go the other way. The shift was even invented for defending the GOAT, Ted Williams. He said he didn’t want to risk screwing with his swing by going opposite field, although he ultimately did some of the time. Not scolding, joking.
I hope the Medias get off their collective tushies today and remember that moving guys over might be a better strategy than ALWAYS trying to hit homers.
Devers could have scored the tying runs if he'd only tried going oppo with the bases loaded yesterday.
