Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

I guess I could imagine a scenario where Ohtani is asking him to log in and move money from here to there or pay this or that bill. Or the interpreter was around enough to learn his passwords or whatever.

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

It doesn’t surprise me that much that Ippei could have had access to his accounts. He wasn’t just an interpreter but more like his personal assistant.

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

Maybe so, but then....wait a day? People screw up, and maybe that's what happened. But, seems like there were a bunch of unforced errors all over the place here.

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

The second gets you banned for life, but the first - I would argue - would still get him in a lot of trouble and have financial consequences worth more than $4.5 million.

Does anyone know if Miami moved their LT to RT when Tua started starting for them?

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

My hypothesis is that at some point, Ohtani must have been wiling to go along with the storyline that Ohtani made the payments to the bookie to bail out Ippei. I just can't fathom the idea that Ippei made that statement if the truth was that Ippei stole the money (with one caveat - coming...

    Misc. Pats Offseason News

That's not what I mean, though. I'm saying if you take someone who has developed as a LT blind side protector, and move them to be a RT blind side protector is it pretty much the same? Is it any easier (or harder) to be a RT blind side protector than a LT blind side protector?

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

As an employee of the LAD, I assume Mizuhara was staying at the team hotel at least up until he was fired. Maybe the Dodgers haven't made themselves available for any questions, but I'm surprised no reporter wouldn't have asked them "Did Mizuhara check out of the team hotel?" If the theft is...

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

The unfortunate reality is, I believe, that I think it is highly unlikely the Patriots really would have a clue that any of these prospects are "the guy" or "not the guy". I'm sure they will have an overall preference between all the QBs, but I'd be very surprised if they had any certainty that...

    Misc. Pats Offseason News

In the fairly unlikely event that the Pats end up with Penix, there's nothing particularly different about being a RT protecting a LH QB than being a LT protecting a RH QB, right? For a RH RT, if the rusher is trying to go around your dominant side it's probably a little bit better for you than...

    Jrue the Damaja

Listening to Abbie's report on Jrue last night, I was a little discouraged. Talking about him having to manage the pain for the rest of the season. It didn't sound like there was a lot of optimism he was going to fully heal for the playoffs.

It seemed to me like KP was getting bullied a lot off-ball last night.

    2023-24 Celtics

The 8 second violation was embarrassing. I was curious why they didn’t start PP with White and Holiday out. Didn’t seem to matter as they built that huge lead. But then they started PP in the second half. I didn’t like Jaylen’s 3P from like 5 feet beyond the arc in the first half. Kind of gave...

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

Maybe I've been watching too many limited series on Netflix lately, but I hope the translator isn't disappeared. it is really, really hard to understand how the translator could give an interview and talk to the team and say that Ohtani gave him the money if Ohtani didn't. It's not like it's a...

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

The whole saga is so bizarre. It would seem in the early days of this scandal unfolding, that Ohtani (and his team) did not realize that wiring money to cover the interpreter's debts would in and of itself be a crime. When they realized this, they then changed their story to accuse the...

Thoughts/Impressions on “The Dynasty” Apple TV Series

I'm firmly of the belief that BB could have done something that wasn't in the best interest of the football team, absolutely. He's a human being. But, as you said, you'd better have receipts. What's weird is that Butler himself has said he has no idea - which is honestly a bit hard to...

The Next Pats QB: Daniels or Maye?

"oh man is there something there" seems like a bit of an odd statement. Especially after the "but" - makes it seem almost like a criticism is coming. And what does "shouldn't have dug in" mean? Like, he wishes he hadn't seen him because now he'll be disappointed he won't be there at #3?

Thoughts/Impressions on “The Dynasty” Apple TV Series

I haven't seen any of the series, but have heard quite about it in the media. Honestly, I'm a little surprised Kraft so blatantly threw BB under the bus on things like the Malcolm Butler thing. To say "it wasn't a football thing" and that BB wasn't doing things that were in the best interest of...

    2024-2025 Celtics Roster Discussion

Anything can happen in a 7 game series, of course, but I have a really hard time seeing a scenario where some glaring weakness of the Celtics is exposed that can be fixed. Would it be nice to have even more good players? Of course! But, the Celtics live in a league with a salary cap and lots of...

    Pritchard Extended

I love how he pushes, but then slows down if there isn't something there. I don't like it when guys push and then feel like because they pushed the pace they need to try and go coast to coast and reward themselves by taking a bad shot. Pritchard moves up the floor like a bat out of hell, which...
