Celtics 2019-2020 depth chart and roster

Top 6 are talented, but Brad will have to get quality minutes our of one of the rookies or TL/Yabu/Semi if this team is going to hit 50+ wins in a newly competitive East. Current tier 1: Milwaukee Toronto (with Kawhi) Philly Current tier 2: Indy Boston Toronto (no Kawhi) Brooklyn (no KD) Miami

The ‘18-‘19 Kings/Grizzlies/Clippers: Tracking the Picks

Yep, we are so spoiled by the past few seasons of play on the court and Nets lotto picks. I can still remember the 2001 draft, when we thought we had a stacked set of picks at number 10/11/21; the 2003 draft (Ainge's first), when we went in with 16/20 and came out with Marcus Banks and Kendrick...

R-Dub: Time Lord, Tantalizing Sleeper, or Just a Late Flier?

Interesting to see Brad go to this "plus size" lineup in the Hawks game: Horford+Baynes as bigs Tatum+Morris Sr. as wings Marcus running point

The ‘18-‘19 Kings/Grizzlies/Clippers: Tracking the Picks

Obviously this is only possible in retrospect, but I think a lot of us thought (at the time of the trade) that the #2-5 protection on the Lakers pick was something that Danny asked for and would be an advantage for the Celtics.

The ‘18-‘19 Kings/Grizzlies/Clippers: Tracking the Picks

Huge game for Celtics pick watchers tomorrow as SAC goes on the road to LAC for an early afternoon start. Let's hope this is an "LA nightlife undefeated" affair and that the Clips also take care of business against the Hawks (Monday) and LeBron-less Lakers (Thursday) to build some momentum...

The ‘18-‘19 Kings/Grizzlies/Clippers: Tracking the Picks

Clips and Kings are actually both playing above their pythag at the moment. The real issue is that Utah woke up and is looking like the 50+ win team everyone expected before the season. If that continues and LeBron is healthy, it's hard to see the Clippers hanging on to that 8th slot all season...

    2018 NBA Game Thread

McHale and Kareem are really the only guys on that list that didn't get there with 3s or a ton of dunking on guys (Philly era Charles Barkley was insane in that department).

Expanding pro U.S. sports to Mexico?

Yep, this is accurate. For the same reason, I'd think that the NFL would actually make the most sense for eventual expansion. That probably won't happen for another 10+ years, but it would be easier to host 8 games per year, sell out all the luxury boxes, and provide a tremendous home-field...

The ‘18-‘19 Kings/Grizzlies/Clippers: Tracking the Picks

Not good for the Celtics that Hield is likely entering his peak years: https://deadspin.com/buddy-hield-got-two-years-older-on-one-birthday-1831248170 One of those players that a lot of folks wrote off b/c he was an old rookie, but he has gotten better every year, to the point where he is now...

The ‘18-‘19 Kings/Grizzlies/Clippers: Tracking the Picks

Disappointing, especially since the Kings get the beat-a-Bulls next. But their next 10 after that are: MIN, GSW, @DAL, @MIN, OKC, MEM, NOP, @LAC, LAL, @LAL Hopefully by New Year's Eve we can stop worrying about a Kings playoff run...

    Celtics in 18-19

Average Eastern Conference team won 40.2 games last year. The average Western Conference team won 41.8 games. Switch LeBron from Cleveland (50 wins) to LA (35 wins) and you're pretty much at Vegas's numbers...

    The 2018-19 rotation

If the C's break camp healthy, I could see MaMo+Rozier getting traded for future assets . You'd probably have to find a team that both has a trade exception for MaMo (which gets the C's under the luxury tax) and still has a desire to compete in 2018-2019. Just looking around the league, I'd say...

    Getting Smart with Statistics

Interestingly, New Orleans nabbed both Randle (2 years MLE) and Payton (1 yr deal) from that same 2014 draft: https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2014.html Seems like guys who are considered to still have upside (i.e. Gordon, LaVine, Nurkic, Exum) are able to get multi-year deals...

    Celtics in 18-19

I mentioned this in the Marcus Smart thread, but if DA can get him on a MLE+ deal, they can structure it in a team friendly way so that Marcus gets more money up front. Rozier gets moved, Nader gets cut, and they use the MLE for a center (or bring back Baynes) to stay right under the luxury tax...
