Casas has a left rib fracture. He will be out "a while." (4/23 update)

Dunno, and I’m sure as shinola not a doc. Spraining a muscle in the course of maybe an awkward swing would be unfortunate but barely noteworthy. An otherwise healthy as a horse young player cracking his own rib swinging a bat kind of happens never a season. Pitchers break themselves (arms and...

Casas has a left rib fracture. He will be out "a while." (4/23 update)

Maybe its ridiculous, but I’m really hoping there’s something to this. Otherwise he just pulled his body apart, which is really hard to process. Like why would it not just keep happening?

Bello to IL with lat tightness

I was one of those that expressed trepidation that this pitching transition would create real attrition, at least until we end up with arms that developed and survived this approach. I have no answer for losing the 1B swinging a bat and the starting SS diving for a ball. Still don’t know what...

Red Sox sign Danny Kirwin from the Oakland Ballers

First off, the video of the kid is terrific…I think? Honestly, no idea but it looks good and is already a great story. Second, I’ve just learned more about Fleetwood Mac than I ever thought possible (deep googling). Many kudos all around.

    Luddite new computer recommendation

This is all good advice, I’m a techie-nerd and still taking notes :) If you want it stay w/Mac OS that seems covered, as does the Chromebook option, which definitely represents the best value (maybe not the forte for Mac), just want to express a middle road value wise… A $250-350 8gb RAM 14”...

Toucher and Hardy: The new 98.5 morning show

Holy shhhiiiiot yes. I listen to the podcasts a lot and I could not care less about Shania Twain’s best video or whatever some (I’m assuming healthy) country singers bucket list is but they are spending an abusive amount of time pitching that horseshit to me every single day. Is this really...

Casas has a left rib fracture. He will be out "a while." (4/23 update)

That’s a pretty deep cut, but yeah we own him minimum still! If Casas is down for an extended period then Belt does look good, assuming still trying to compete

Eliot Wolf will be in charge of the personnel department,

It’s just word salad, but he did say they expected to be there by the draft. I mean what can he say? ‘Yup, we know already just hope X is there!’ Gotta keep the cards close still.

    The Krafts

Good distinction: he’s not taking direct responsibility for football decisions, in fact if anything he’s continued to try and distance the family from that side. To me he seems to be trying to position himself not just as peer, but as above the other two somehow and transcending them. The bit...

A Dream of 2025, What is Going Right and Looks like the Sox can Build On

Not sure this math bears up (not trying to single out your post it seems a broadly held opinion here!) curious what others think. If elbow/shoulder injuries are a random walk (I actually argue that in specific cases it’s not, but in general I assume it is) then why not just lock up the good...

    The Krafts

I think it was that way, pre documentary. Now, it’s getting rougher by the week for RKK. When it was an amorphous triumvirate, he could be seen to work in the shadows to smooth things over…which was probably accurate. Now he seems to be grabbing the lions share of credit, which forces the...

Dalbec sent down to AAA (recalled to BOS on 4/12)

Interesting, and makes sense thanks. I’ve been pondering the impact of the innings/pitcher ratio continuing to drop (heading to a roster once for example) and that’s a place where it could be manifesting. If a starting 1B, or maybe heavy use DH?, goes down then maybe Belt gets a call.

Wow, compared to you guys I was a 6’2 155 pound load in high school ha! Seriously though @RG33, I was paid in high school to document my diet (sponsored research project on cardio centered student athletes and I was rowing). I averaged 6800 calories a day and could not gain a pound. About the...
