Between here and everywhere.
For fucking SHAME RMPS.

It's the season opener, HOCKEY IS BACK and there's no thread yet?

I'll be in the house tonight, Bjorking my brains out.

Who else is in?

(Oh Bergeron and Backes may be out. Bummer)

I make my well anticipated return to the NESHL tonight but should be able to catch about 1.5 periods before having to leave. Hooray me!

I thought about starting the thread last night, but didn't feel like I had earned the right to start opening day thread.

I thought I wasn't going to get to see this one because I was supposed to be flying out yesterday for a custody hearing in New Mexico.... but then my step son came down with appendicitis, so I had the pleasure of canceling my non-refundable plane tickets that I never had the money for anyway, and I'll be doing the hearing by phone. Not really optimal, but hey, at least I get to watch HOCKEY from the comfort of my own home.

Go Bruins!

It's week 4 for us tonight. Debating skipping but I think we're short guys so I know I should go.

I'll also catch about 1.5 periods on tv plus a bunch on the radio. No Goucher will make me sad.

Where you playing?

My team has our season opener tonight too, but I will obviously be skipping out on that.
Walter Brown

Previous team was a bunch of wicked smart Harvard MBA's that disbanded so had to go the draft route, which included a tryout where four people showed up, I skated around for 20 minutes, and got on a team. So will be interesting to see what the team is like.

New seasons are cool. All the best to the Bs and the RMPS stalwarts who breathe with them!

No way I am starting off the first game thread. I am a curse.

I will be in the house tonight in our usual seats (Loge 18, Row 4). I have no idea where I will be going beforehand now that NorthStar is closed. Any suggestions? Looking for decent food, plus ability to drink whiskey and get fired up for the game.

Schaller - Nash - Acciari

Chara - Carlo

So pumped for the season.

Bergeron being out sucks, but....

To school this morning, my daughter wore her Tom Brady jersey underneath my Bergeron jersey (since it was like 47 degrees cold, thank you California). I think this bodes well for our chances tonight.

McGann's is the play. Food is somewhat lower than decent, into mediocre range, but the generous jamo pours make up for it

Have you ever been to the Tap Room on Cambridge St.? Good beer list, good food.
You mean Tip Tap room? If that is the spot you mean I second the recommendation. One of the best tap lists in Boston.

Also, Go B's!

My dad once called the Tip Tap Room a dive bar. I will have to assume he had spent the day loading up on high ABV beers prior to going there.

Yeah. He mentioned the food specifically and, much like my beloved Mary Ann's, I believe the only food at BHP is the vending machine.

You sure he didn’t mean The Tam? Now that’s a dive bar.

No, it was by the Garden and he went there specifically to schmooze with the manager to get his beer in the restaurant or something. I can't really remember outside of the fact I went there after that Saturday matinee game a few years back against the Flyers where basically all of RMPS was in attendance.

The Island
Sox on at 1, B's on at 4. Hooray West coast!

Let's check my calendar at those times... Oh work meetings.
I’ll see that and raise:

Prince Edward Island, Sox at 5, Bruins at 8, and cable has Centre Ice for free this week. Aaaaaaand that’s when my Blue Jays lovin’ boss decides I need to work an evening in the lab. Boo.

Take this for what it's worth - but the young B's players look like they're having fun in warmups. Lots of small checks into the boards when sitting f around, Marchand just pushed Vatrano over after the scrum drill. They're goofing around out there and it's kind of cool to see.

It could mean nothing, but it looks like the young kids may have some chemistry.

Oh but you missed NESN fawning all over Jeremy Jacobs. Most unpleasant.

Can’t wait to see this team.
