That is the standard the league wants to set, problem is they aren’t even close to consistent. Stick was in the hands, he wasn’t making a play on the puck. In an ideal world that is a good defensive play but the league wants those plays to be penalties.

That legitimately might have been the defensive play of the year. Sprints the length of the ice while on the PP and lifts his stick THROUGH ZAJAC'S LEGS! Absolutely insane play and I can't believe it was called a penalty.

It wasn’t a slash though, they called it a hook. I think whichever ref called it just saw where Bergeron was in relation to Zajac and assumed there was no way he could have made the play without it being a penalty.

That ref was wrong.

There’s a reason goalies bang their stick on the ice when a PP is a few seconds from over: So that doesn’t happen.

As an officiating period as I’ve seen in a while. All around.

And a blatant too many men on the ice missed there too. Awesome.

Rare is the instance of a guy jumping on and immediately jumping off without another substitution without that called.

Really bang-up job tonight, then again the league's A-team probably doesn't draw a Sunday night NJ game.

Absolutely no way to overturn that. Thank god they called it a goal on the ice.

I’m guessing that he saw the puck in the net when Lack picked up his glove, hence the goal call.
