The head being the principal point of contact does not necessarily equate to a suspension. The reason that the head was the first thing hit was that it was down and in front of the body. If you skate head-first, you aren't protected by rule 48.

@AMcGhie I don't disagree with you and don't think he should be suspended, but he will because the NHL is concerned about being perceived as too violent and looks to crack down on when they have a guy laying unconscious for two minutes on the ice. It's all optics and bullshit.

I understand your point and agree. I also hope we're wrong.

Marchand - racing up the points leaderboard too. He could get some Hart votes this year.

Cehlàrik has had 3 really good chances from up close this game. No goals, but he's going to keep getting told to get to that spot before the defender because Krecji can and will find him there for the decent opportunity.

His reputation will likely preclude him from getting a finalist nomination, but he's right there and should finish in the 4-10 range. McDavid, Crosby and Burns will probably finish ahead of him, but an argument can be made that he's 4th.

Those last two are the thing. Chances from the slot are worth so much more than shots from anywhere else. Cassidy either has them focused on it or they are simply getting more and cashing in more.
The Colin Miller shot for a goal simply doesn't happen under Claude. High slot from the d-man? Prime scoring opportunity.
