Think about the fact that the Rangers are a possible opponent in the first round for the Atlantic champion.

If the Bruins play this well the rest of the year they are making the playoffs with the ability to knock off a few good teams.

Tough loss. Tough two points to leave behind. But Lundqvist was insanely good -- he stole one for the Rangers.

Gotta like the Bruins' pace.

So how close was that contact on Lundqvist at the end? Seemed like he stuck his elbow out and my Rags buddy agreed but we had minimal vantage points on that one.

Watching Pasta live is amazing. Hands are so silky. Krejci makes one filthy play for every 1.5 shit plays as well.

Why do the Bruins always, always, always get fewer man-advantage opportunities than their opponents? Just watched condensed and in that little compression of the game's action I saw Miller interfered with trying to skate out of the zone, Backes tripped in front of Lundqvist in the closing seconds. Nuthin. Exasperating.

I thought if Lundqvist didn't stick out his left arm, there would have been minimal to no contact. The NESN studio guys disagreed after the game, saying that call has to be made to protect the goalies. Pretty close call, and basically decided the outcome of the game which is rough.

Between here and everywhere.
To be fair, Backes path was taking him directly through the crease. Lundqvist ensured he got the call, but even without the embellishment he's probably interfered with and a call is coming anyways.

Backes leaped and twisted himself so that he very clearly was going to avoid Henrik, but the arm came out.

Edit:
I don't have a huge problem with the call, but the goalie initiated the contact.

Eh, Backes was playing the puck. Doing so took him very close to the goal, but he actively attempted to avoid hitting the goalie. Running into the goalie while trying to 1) play the puck and 2) actively avoid contact probably shouldn't draw an interference penalty.

Text of the rule:

Penalty - In all cases in which an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, whether or not the goalkeeper is inside or outside the goal crease, and whether or not a goal is scored, the attacking player will receive a penalty (minor or major, as the Referee deems appropriate). In all cases where the infraction being imposed is to the attacking player for hindering the goalkeeper's ability to move freely in his goal crease, the penalty to be assessed is for goalkeeper interference.
In exercising his judgement, the Referee should give more significant consideration to the degree and nature of the contact with the goalkeeper than to the exact location of the goalkeeper at the time of the contact.
