This is my point though. Kerr is a very good coach but the Spurs are basically giving SA a free win here by benching its stars for rest. In a WC race for the one seed, I don't know why GS isn't just taking the free head-to-head win tonight. Bench them when you play the Kings.
De facto league rules require the visiting team to notify the home team, the press, and the league office when they intend to rest healthy players. Pop is resting guys tonight in response to Kerr resting guys; there was no option where Kerr sent out Curry, Klay and Draymond to play the Spurs' backups.

Maybe when Pop rested Parker, Murray and Manu; but he didn't have a choice to rest Leonard or Aldridge.

46/21/3 for Anthony Davis. No turnovers. Really wish we could see him play games that actually matter.

Fair point, but I think Kerr didn't like his chances of beating even a shorthanded Spurs team on the second night of a back-to-back. Obviously, his strategy would look better if the Dubs hadn't also lost to the Celtics and Timberwolves in the past three nights.

After coming back from 15 in the 4th quarter last night, the Wiz have come back from a 21 point half time deficit and are trailing by 2 with 6:50 left in the 4th.

24-6 in their last 30.

Not to mention the Bucks have won 6 in a row and have given up 93 points per game over their last 5 after giving up 105 for the season. They're both really good.

Cousins benched for 4Q.

I hadn't watched Cousins at all pre-trade but the couple of times I have seen him - wow. His body language is terrible; it seems like if he doesn't have the ball in his hands, he doesn't care to move, and he doesn't make it past 1/2 court multiple times a game. That would drive DA and Brad (and me!) nuts to watch game after game.

Ricky Rubio has 9 points and 10 assists.

AFTER ONE QUARTER.

He still needs 21 more in 3 quarters to set record.

In the end the Wizards couldn't deal with KAT.

Thank God the Lakers didn't with the 2015 lotto.

Rubio is like the Alex Smith of the NBA. He's actually quite good at what he does, but he can't shoot (i.e. Throw deep) so people think he sucks.

Since replacing Kyle Korver, Tim Hardaway Jr over the last 34 games: 29.6 minutes, 16.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals on .478/.413/.800 shooting. That's 81-196 from 3 in that time. Korver is 74-152 in the same period.

Also Cavs are up 44-26 after the 1st quarter and Kyrie already has 15 points. The Cavs went 17-20 from the field and 7-7 from 3.

Cavs hit 9 straight FGs until Lebron just missed. Only 3 turnovers combined this game, Detroit with 1. Still down by 24 anyway.

Meanwhile BKN tied with OKC after 1... cmon Thunder
Do you really think there is even a tiny chance that Brooklyn will not have the worst record in the league? They are eight wins behind with seventeen games left and they have won twelve games all season.

Unfortunately the 2011 Red Sox and their 99.9% chance have scarred me

Through three, Sixers shooting 48.5 from the field, Warriors 33.3%. That isn't from three. That is from everywhere. Oh yeah, Philly out-rebounding GSW by 11 41-30. Calling the Warriors "Bigs" "Bigs" is a gross misnomer.

I just put on Oakland and saw a joke call off the ball and then a no call on a shooting foul....I'm out.

I see that Larry Sanders was in for two minutes was -6 for the game.
Why was LeBron in for 28 minutes if this was a blowout from wire to wire? Kyrie with 30 too...

When I watch Draymond I always notice that the guy wins more one-on-one fast break plays than any other defensive player.

That line is fucking insane.
And I'm not sure it does justice to how smart and dominant he was defensively. Sixers SBN blog Liberty Ballers summed it up well...

Saric’s only kryptonite this evening seemed to be Draymond Green, who put on a Defensive Player of the Year-type performance down the stretch. His defense single-handedly held the Sixers scoreless for over 5 minutes during the majority of the Warriors’ 19-2 spurt. He blew up pick and rolls by disturbing pocket passes; he allowed certain ball handlers a step past him, only to poke their handle free, he tallied 6 blocks, ripped down some soul-crushing-possession-ending rebounds that seemed destined for a Sixers’ arms; and he fouled Saric with 2.6 seconds remaining and the Warriors nursing a 3-point lead. It was an ingenious effort.

Golden State of Mind also had a great "Explain One Play" piece on his performance. (NB: This whole series is a much read/watch for hoops junkies).

On top of snuffing an incandescent Saric, Dray also took a few turns on Okafor (who was having a surprisingly dominant game) and roofed him on a dunk at the rim on a key late possession. He also took it on himself to pick up full-court in the last few minutes, which didn't result in any backcourt turnovers that I recall, but I think totally spooked the Sixers' offense. He was everywhere like Savoir-Faire (obscure Klondike Kat reference for the Gen-Xers in the crowd).

The Warriors' post-KD-injury offensive swoon continues — ball movement has stagnated; turnovers remain an issue; Curry and Thompson continue to clang an inordinate number of good looks; and with KD on the shelf the lack of reliable scoring outside the Splash Bros is glaring. But their ability to tighten the screws defensively when they need to remains their ace in the hole. Theoretically, with all teams at full strength, the Spurs lack the offense to hang with the Warriors, and the Cavs/Rockets lack the defense to do so. But I'm definitely less confident saying that than I was before the Durant injury. They've looked surprisingly mortal without him. If he's not ready for Round One, I could definitely see Memphis or OKC or Denver making their lives extremely difficult. And if he's unavailable or a shell of himself throughout the playoffs, I think their chances of going all the way are pretty close to nil.

Two weeks in, KD's walking without a brace and getting up some shots in practice, so I'm guardedly optimistic he'll fit the typical 5-6 week recovery period for a grade 2 MCL strain, give or take. But fingers crossed. This is definitely not your 2014-16 Durant-less Warriors.

Portland beats San Antonio despite Kawhi playing at his highest level. Nurkic has been a great gamble on their part and with that backcourt and their athleticism on defense I think they could be a really fun lower seed.
