Had to be tough for Streb and Walker to sit around all day yesterday with the lead.

Also, it would be good if Speith could get to the 4th round -6. And, with that said, he just totally douched a shot on 16. 40 yards off line, on a Par 3. That is a bad shot.

Where it rains. No, seriously.
Closely mown areas, you can lift, clean and place your ball within one club length, no closer to the hole.

So you can't put your hand on the ball in the rough, but in fairways and around the greens.

62 is in play.

Pretty crazy Stenson plays with an 8 year old three wood.
And there's an argument to be made that he hits that club better than any other player on tour hits any single club. He's absolutely lethal with that thing.

I've been watching golf somewhat avidly for the past decade plus of my life and I've never heard the term preferred lie. You learn something new on occasion.

I live about 10 miles west of Baltusrol. Skies here have started brightening and rain has stopped for now. If this moves East and stays this way for awhile, scores are going to go lower.

As we get older, we start forgetting stuff. :)

I haven't heard the term much lately on TV. Maybe it's because it's rarely invoked at the pro tournament level.

I play at municipal courses where on some holes there are patches of bare dirt or burned grass in the fairways, so preferred lies come into play -- you can move your ball to live grass but no closer to the hole. "Preferred lie" is also known as "winter rules." It's winter rules all year 'round where I play.

I also play with guys who make liberal use of the foot wedge. Probably not allowed at PGA today.

Former private course member, we used to call it "playing the ball up". There would be two signs in clubhouse, one for cart rules and one for playing ball up/down.

Maybe CBS thought he'd be another Pat Summerall because their voices sound similar and other similarities, but no way. Pat had great charisma and nobody ever called him a douche.
Nantz getting divorced was the worst thing that could have happened to a hater. Because since then, he's been everywhere, trying to make his money back.

Stenson blows up his chances with a pretty lousy double on 15. Over the green in two. Terrible chip. Worse second chip. Missed putt. 6.

He could easily be a captain pick.
Looking at the standings as of this morning with a month or so to go before they are set (Walker up from 29th to 4th), it would be tough for Love to make a pick outside the Top 12 - captain's picks of Watson, Reed, Kuchar and Fowler would be quite strong, and clearly better than Piercy, Haas, McGirt, etc. down the list.
