Spurs take down Dortmund, which I believe now has 4 losses and a tie in their last five. Kane and Son with the goals.

In the Group Stage, if two teams finished tied with the same number of points, does the head-to-head score/record count or does the overall goal differential count?

The tiebreakers are head-to-head points then head-to-head goal differential. As a general rule of thumb, UEFA competitions (e.g. Euro 2020 tournament and qualifers, Champions League) use head-to-head, while FIFA competitions (e.g. UEFA World Cup qualifiers, and the World Cup group stage) use goal differential. The full list is spoilered below:

  1. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
  2. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question;
  3. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question;
  4. higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question;
  5. if, after having applied criteria 1 to 4, teams still have an equal ranking, criteria 1 to 4 are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria 6 to 12 apply;
  6. superior goal difference in all group matches;
  7. higher number of goals scored in all group matches;
  8. higher number of away goals scored in all group matches;
  9. higher number of wins in all group matches;
  10. higher number of away wins in all group matches;
  11. lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received in all group matches (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);
  12. higher club coefficient.

Interesting scenario for Juventus today: if Sporting wins Juventus needs a win to advance, if Sporting loses or draws Juventus advances with any result. Barcelona will finish first regardless. So Juventus may all-out attack if their match is tied late, if Sporting's match is even somewhat close.

Pot 1:
Manchester United
PSG
Roma
Barca
Mancester City
Besiktas
Tottenham

Pot2:
Basel
Bayern
Chelsea
Juve
Real

Group E:
Favourites have to be Liverpool (Pot 1) and Sevilla(Pot2) to advance. Liverpool plays Spartak (who only has 1 away point from Maribor) at Anfield and Sevilla plays at Maribor. If Liverpool wins, both are 1-2 no matter the other result.

Group F:
Manchester City (15p) is through. Shaktar has to lose at home vs.City and Napoli has to win at Feyenoord. Then both teams would be tied at 9p with Napoli winning the head to head and advancing. Seems a bit unlikely but possible.

Group G:
Besiktas (11p) is first, no matter what. They play at Leipzig (7p) and Porto(7p) plays at home vs. Monaco(2p) who are out. If Porto wins or gets the same result as Leipzig, they are through as 2nd, as they win the head to head. I would think Porto is the heavy favourite to advance as the 2nd team here.

Group H:
Tottenham 1st (Pot 1), Real 2nd (Pot2), Dortmund and Apoel lose it out who goes to the Euro League.

This seems to bring some more big name and hopefully some action-packed matches for round of last 16, instead of last years, where the real drama happened in quarterfinals most of the time. Never too early to look ahead and it seems like with Bayern, Chelsea, Juve and Real as teams in Pot 2 with possibly Sevilla/Liverpool/Spartak, Shaktar/Napoli, Porto/Leipzig joining Basel, this will bring more than one great match.

There will be at least 3, possibly 4 matchups with only big-name teams (say PSG vs Chelsea, Bayern vs. Barca, Juve vs.Manchester United, etc.), WOW! That looks good, so far.

If Liverpool with their group then Chelsea is guaranteed either PSG, Barca or Besiktas

I'd like to thank Fox for showing Real Madrid for the 6th time in 6 opportunities in this time slot, despite the game being totally meaningless to who advances.

LFC/Spartak got a rather low level Fox team. Looking forward to hearing these guys murder every name they utter during the World Cup.

Gotta feel for him, the Sevilla match was a blip in an otherwise outstanding season for him thus far - that knock looks like it could put him out for a few.

Warm bodies are great during the holiday period, but the cynical part of me wonders if this is the easiest way to get Moreno off the field. He scares the shit out of me and the better teams target him.

But for whatever reason, Klopp doesn't play Robertson. Are 'Pool in for a month of Milner or might young Andy get a match or two?

Robertson played the last league match against Brighton, so he seems to be working his way into the playing rotation.
