Martin Tyler is not impressed.

But I am.

Also, Tyler’s line here is awesome:

“This is a message to the European elite: the five-time European champions are back in business.”

California. Duh.
Liverpool are going to finish with 3 wins and 3 draws in the group. The goal differential in the 3 wins is currently +17.

Not bad for LFC.

How about Real v. PSG in round of 16?

Not bad at all for LFC.

PSG and Real feels like the "counter-fix" to prove they aren't fixing.

Arsenal are lucky not to have gotten Bayern or Barca again.

Should be interesting to see how Juventus stack up against Spurs.

1-0 Juve, 2nd min. Somebody was sleeping on a freekick chip and Higuain with a superb finish. Lloris touches it, but no chance IMO.

2-0 from Bernardo Silva. City clearing the few remaining question marks in that tie.

Spurs are passing the ball around a little bit now, but get nowhere close to the goal.

And 3-0 City, Aguero.

Great result from Spurs after having the worst-case scenario starting in the first ten minutes. That is a big boy draw against an elite European opponent, on the road.

Kane's goal was the first home goal Juventus had conceded in 826 minutes; which says something about Juventus and something about Serie A. It also gave Kane 7 goals this season, tying Gerrard for the most any English player has ever scored in CL, and he also became the first player to score 9 goals in 9 career games.

PSG-Madrid will be appointment television today. One of the best matchups on paper I have seen in awhile. Madrid has been on poor form in Spain, but all the players know that UCL could be their saving grace. OTOH, PSG has been annihilating everything in France, but no one really cares. They need to make it happen on the European stage for anyone to notice. Selfishly, I'm hoping Lo Celso gets on the field for PSG. He is considered the next big thing in Argentina and if he could boss the midfield AND link to the attack, well that would be just what the doctor ordered for the 2018 iteration of the squad.

has there been a bigger round of 16 matchup than PSG-RM? All of the potential ramifications, for star players (Chrissy and Neymar), a star coach (Zidane), and the idea that a championship squad can or cannot be bought. The implications if PSG wins are enormous as it likely sends RM into a massive spending frenzy that would negatively impact many of the 16 CL teams. And if RM wins, how does PSG respond? Big blow to the French league, etc

cool stuff

I think PSG are legit and this may be a huge statement for them. I'm so excited to watch this it isn't funny. Feels like getting to watch a final 3 rounds early
