He is literally a career .500 head coach now that he has lost this game. He pulled $20M down from BC to basically get the program to .500. His ceiling is 8 wins at most and he hasn’t gotten that many yet. The program is the definition of a middle of the road operation. Thanks Steve for getting the program back to .500 but no matter what this is your ceiling.

Yup. Keeping him around another year is delaying the inevitable. Cut the cord now and give AJ Dillon a chance to succeed.

There is little chance they won't win 8 games next year. Non-league schedule is weak...UMass, Holy Cross (not good at their level right now, never mind at the BCS level), Temple ....Purdue on the road might be a decent game. Daz will be around a while.

Here is their 2018 Schedule:

Home
UMass
Temple
Holy Cross
Miami
Clemson
Louisville
Syracuse

Road
Purdue
Wake Forest
Florida State
Va Tech
NC State

I see 4 wins going into the season as "guarantees". The rest are either a loss or toss up. Given the history of this program, no matter who is the QB or tailback or OL or whatever, that means another 6-6, 7-5 regular season and another mid level bowl, maybe. If that happens, I think we all can agree that Dazzler has hit his ceiling and if the Administration wants to take the next step, legitimately, they will have to move on from him. Either way, something has to give no later that this time next year as he will only have 2 years left on his contract and he will either have to be bought out or extended. The long term health of the program cannot allow its HC to be running the show with less than 3 years on his deal,

One thing that is kind of a bummer is that with the early signing of the recruiting class, for the most part, there is nothing to keep the fan base engaged in the program for the next 8+ months. At least we could look at NLI day in February to keep things going. The program now just kind of shuts down till August for the fans out here. It was good to discuss things on this thread again this year. Hope you all have a good New Year and we will talk down the road.

...well from what I'm seeing today, it's a shame that Virginia isn't an opponent next year. Down 28-7 after scoring on the opening kickoff.
