As of two weeks ago, only one QB in Michigan State history had thrown for 400 yards in a game, exactly 400 IIRC. Lewerke set the school record with 445. Then he had 385 last week, and now he has 400 again this week.

So, they basically went 100 years with one 400 yard passing game, and now they have 2 in 3 weeks and almost a third. Weird.
Until 2013, Michigan had never had a single 400 yard passing game. Then Devin Gardner threw for over 450 and over 500 in the span of about a month.

What the hell was that with James Franklin? He just ran down #7 (from PSU) before the kid got to the locker room, and sent him back to the field. Franklin looked like was trying to stop a murder. Was the kid about to get into a fight with someone or something?

Defensive battle has broken out in Bedlam. Only 3 points in 12+ minutes in the 3rd quarter after 76 points in the 1st 30. Probably means they combine for 50 in the 4th.

It was weird. Something about team unity, perhaps? Franklin showed good speed, though. He had been sleeping most of the game.

So assuming Wisky loses the title game, Clemson’s road to the playoffs is wide open right?

Alabama
ND
Georgia
Clemson?
pretty much. I'm not sure Wisc gets in even if they win title game if two of these teams run the table: ND, Miami, VTech, Clemson, OU

I don't think there is any chance they keep an undefeated Wisconsin out of the playoff. I think only Clemson gets in from that group over them.

Fucking Notre Dame. I want them to lose so bad, but it's not going to happen. And when NC State loses next week to BC, that "great" win they had last week will look as average as it actually is.

Baker Mayfield is now 22-32 for 564 yards. Is that good?

I've been checking out high school stats on a bunch of college players recently. Just looked up Mason Rudolph. In his senior year at Rock Hill, SC, he threw for 4377 yards and 64td's and ran for 543 yards and 16 more tds. In FIFTEEN fucking games. Did these kids play 5 on 5 in high school or something?

The Big 12 is such a clown conference
So I should make a new post on this but I have a theory.

Texas is terrible. The league has no defense. I think it’s actualy tied to the decking nature of Texas HS football. Texas HS football is all wide open no defense because kids are leaving the game for various reasons. To get them to stay they need flash, hence spread offense.

It’s been going on a decade or so now, I think it’s the core reason why Texas football is god awful and thus the Big 12 is a joke.

Probably some truth in that. It’s the new WAC and I just can’t take it seriously.

I'll tell you what else is wide open after today. The Heisman race. Saquon Barkley and JT Barrett have to have eliminated themselves, and Josh Adams left with an injury early for ND. Mayfield putting himself right back in, and/or Rudolph, depending on who wins this game.

Thanks. I was just about to quote your other good post and ask for a link / source.
I can't recall if you've ever dropped this knowledge in those threads about allowing your kids to play football or the football future but you should. While most of this board is NE blues where HS football is less a big deal, it shows even in football is life places things are changing.

Woah. No way is Rudolph above Barkley. Mayfield will draw closer but Barkley will still be the front-runner. He had one “bad” game today.

Blandino is a moron and knows NFL rules (tenuously), this is known. But blatantly stating, the timing cant be reviewed and then having it reviewed seems extra bad.
Now, I'm not sold on that targeting, guy was clearly leading with his shoulder and just because the OKST lowered his helmet the head to head contact happened.
