Lost in the shuffle of all of the All-Stars switching teams was LAC's acquisition of Milos Teodosic. If only I had time to do nothing to watch basketball. Still, his highlights will be something to watch this year. For example.

And it appears he has had some effect on the way the Clippers play because we get to see things like this.

Atlanta will be waiving Jefferson once trade goes through.
And Felder. They basically just bought two Cavs' second round picks for $3.8M, which is a bit less than the going rate (Warriors for example spent $2.4M for Pat McCaw and $3.5 for Jordan Bell, both #38 picks).

Usually the team includes up to the $3m max in the deal to cover the salary or a majority of it. The Warriors buying these picks to add 2nd unit players on a championship team is a far different dynamic than a lottery team doing so.....the lottery team would be foolish to invest that type of money in second round picks. While they both include 2 second round picks the "markets" aren't really comparable.

A couple of interesting lines from last night's action:

Jordan Bell with another nice game for Golden State: 10 pts. on 5/8 FG, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks. Jordan shaping up to be a steal where Golden State drafted him in the second round (if he stays healthy).

Jordan Mickey: 12 pts. on 6/14 FG, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Mickey also had a decent line in his prior game, against Washington, scoring 12 points on 5/6 shooting.

Anywho, Lonzo Ball missed his 4th straight game with ankle issues.
The Lakers are going to be horrible. I doubt they win 25 games, they're too young, have no depth and the West should be as tough as any conference ever has been. I'm not sure they're actually better than Phoenix or Sacramento.

Replying from another thread:

These picks are still a work in progress, and the final picks will build in preseason results, but here's the most recent set:

Looking forward to seeing these final numbers and how much movement is projected since last week.

Cavs waive Kendrick Perkins. He reportedly came to camp in great shape.

From the Oldies but Goodies files:

* Damien Wilkins, out of the league since 2013, makes the Indiana Pacers roster at the age of 37.

* Emeka Okafor, also out of the league since 2013.........is still out of the league at age 35. He will however play for the Sixers G-league entry in the hopes of making it back this season.

...might be the best Okafor in the sixers organization?? (ducks)

Here's an update. As you can see, there's a decent amount of movement, largely because of preseason results:

The Celtics' excellent preseason (4-0, with a very good MOV, and good opponents), bumped them back above 50 wins. Portland and Utah were the other two big preseason winners, while the Bulls, Pelicans, and Knicks lost (further) ground. (The Cavs' preseason results had no impact on their projection).

This is probably pretty close to final. There are a couple tweaks I'd still like to do, but I would be surprised if I had time to do anything else significant.

Here
Why oops? That was hilarious.

You know what all he's making fun of, right? And the overall history of Embiid & social media? There's no oops.
If you’re right, I assume he’s making fun of Durant, except Durant was praising himself not shitting on other players. Whiteside didn’t seem to think he was joking:

But it's not oops.

Oops implies a mistake whereas you are reacting to a brand in the way in which that brand would like you to react.

Uhh this is bizarre, I don't think many people thought this would even be a possibility. I don't really like his fit on that team

An extension as a reasonable rate may well increase his trade value which would be the best case for everybody. Lock in more guaranteed money over a longer period, but at a lower annual rate and deal him after the season. As things stand now, he'd have to opt out in a very uncertain environment where few teams have space.

Done at 3/$72.3M. Maybe not a horrendous move for them ($24M a year doesn't seem like a ton anymore), but how many other teams in the league willingly take on that contract?

The Memphis Grizzlies draft debacle train rolls on.
They cut Wade Baldwin today who they drafted last year at #16 overall.
Their last 6 1sts:
Baldwin- 1 year then cut
Martin- 2 years deep bench still on team
Adams- 2 years then cut (admittedly he destroyed his knee)
Tony Wroten- 1 year then traded for a conditional 2nd that never conveyed.
Traded w/ DeMarre Carroll for 25 games of Shane Battier and 15 games (at only 7min a night) of Ish Smith
Traded for 5 games of Ronnie Brewer.

BRUTAL.

Final set of picks. I may update with some season sims later, but they won't change the average win total.

Good lord. They couldn't get through 1 game before the wheels flew off and exploded.

I wonder what Silver will do to Portis.

That is also two of their better players as well; at least it opens up the door for Lauri Markkanen to start right away. Man, Hoiberg was not a good hire, and management has not helped him out at all.

Ugh, that’s awful. And of course I was stupid enough to read the Yahoo Sports comments and now I’m doubly depressed. What the fuck is wrong with people? The same basic standards on SoSH should be applied to everyone posting anywhere on the internet.

Ah Twitter,

Can the Cubs quickly sign Bobby Portis to pinch hit? At least we know he makes contact...

It is his win total vs the official number he is betting against: for GSW he predicted 69.5 the line was 67.5 so he is over by 2

I looked at all the games where his prediction was different by the official number by 4 or more.
