2017 The Rex Burkhead IS NOW A NEW ENGLAND CHAMPION PATRIOT thread

Did you see Heath Evans do 45 reps in dress clothes on the NFL Network a couple weeks ago?
I watched it. Pretty amazing.

Evans is part owner of a new WADA approved/tested supplement company so he's been working out a ton getting ready for the PR stuff. For the past 12 weeks he's consumed the same thing each day: the company's supplements, 2 gallons of water, 48 artichoke spears, 20 ounces of cod, and 42 ounces of tuna. He occasionally mixed in a handful of oats before his 4 am daily workouts (that's when his testosterone is highest).

Yeah I saw Heath. Isn't he training out with Leroy and CT Fletcher and Rich Piana's 5% crew in Venice?

What's most impressive is that he is doing that despite his shitty form. Doesn't look like he is using his lats or leg drive much at all and putting way too much stress on elbows and shoulders.

I'm curious how they can claim their supplements are WADA certified when WADA says they don't certify supplements.

https://www.wada-ama.org/en/questions-answers/dietary-and-nutritional-supplements

"WADA is not involved in any certification process regarding supplements and therefore does not certify or endorse manufacturers or their products."
Christ, I hate this board. A ton of companies say "WADA tested" now. It's just means they have (usually independent) testers who inspect for everything on the complete banned list and only use WADA approved ingredients. The big companies like GNC don't do that. WADA obviously doesn't do the testing and/or "endorse" the products. My point was just to relay why he had been working out so much lately (he mentioned it in a bunch of interviews/segments on NFL Network).

I hate that this got turned into a Heath fucking Evans discussion, sorry. Use the Swolehalla thread if you want to discuss it further...because I don't.

PS - I just re-read my original post. I meant asparagus spears, not artichokes.

Regarding my earlier post on ball security, it's interesting to note Burkhead had two forced fumbles to his credit on special teams tackles - equaling the number of turnovers he committed as an offensive player with Bengals.

Oh, and here's a sweet picture of Burkhead and the pediatric brain cancer patient, Jack Hoffman. Jack's cancer returned in 2014 and ironically the family relocated for a short time to Boston so he could participate in a new clinical trial and receive better care. I can't find any recent updates on the kid.

Dude, relax, he just asked a question.
Screw you....I'm relaxed!!!!!

Yeah, sorry. Rough morning relating to other stuff. I was just a little annoyed that this thread, which was already derailed (partly due to me), was now going further into the rabbit's hole over a minor detail relating to some analyst's diet/workout. Regardless, I overacted and my bad for coming off so nasty. I apologize, @CCR

I you used the word "ironic" poorly as well, while we're at it.

Reads threads backwards

He's gushing and looking through a fantasy lens, but I think has some good analysis.

Classic Pats move: bring in a highly athletic player who is good at football. I bet they think he's an effective 4-down player - hence the money. I think he's a Hogan, or a Lewis... a free agent that the Pats scouted better than anyone else, that (given health), will surprise with high production.

He may not be Blount between the tackles, no Beast Mode 1(a), but I like Kelley's point that now that all backs will have pass-catching ability, so the threat is always on the field. I think that, combined with his balance of quickness and power, means he can be the primary back.

Good video, but he mentions Bolden won't be back...so, 0-1.

It wasn't ridiculous by that fantasy guy to think they might try to maximize a roster spot of a core special teamer with someone that also has real offensive ability from the RB spot. That was my logic too. Just how much Burkhead has "graduated" out of special teams given his starter (relative to pats rb's) pay level remains to be seen, but Bolden being back hints at it.

Would any of us be surprised/upset if Bolden hadn't been resigned?

A Scud Away from Hell
Bump, with feelings.

Even with a late start to the season, Burkhead is enjoying a 4.0 Y/A rushing and 10.3 Y/R catching with an 83.3% catch percentages.

10.3 Y/R as a receiver is better than White (8.2), Lewis (5.8) and Gillislee (no catches on the season). It's only slightly behind Amendola (10.7).

I'd love to see him get extended ASAP.
