Today behind the three goal performance of 18 year old Clayton Keller the U.S. had their way with the Danes by a score of 7-2. Game story: http://teamusa.usahockey.com/news_article/show/789772?referrer_id=695820

Canada downed Slovenia, also by a score of 7-2 with Nathan MacKinnon recording a hat trick. Canadian defenceman Tyson Barry had a 4 point game. Game story: https://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/Team-Canada/Men/National/2016-17/World-Championship/Stats/game-summary?gameid=355

The big story of the day, however, was the upset of the Finns by France by the score of 5-1. It was the first time the French have ever beaten the Finns in hockey.

Germany
Group A could be very tight. Russia, Sweden could go 1-2 and then Latvia, the US and Germany could battle for 3-4-5. Latvia already had the three lower teams and beat each of them. Germany will play now all of them and has to beat them. Then both meet in the last match. The US beat Sweden so it could still result in some team overtaking the other although they lost to that.

Latvians struggling to stay on their skates. Bad equipment manager, no doubt. Kaspars Daugavins name invoked far too many times for my comfort.

To me the biggest shock o this tournament was the early exit of the U.S. in the first game of the elimination round. They had played so well in the round robin portion of the tourney and yet lost to a clearly not as skilled opponent in Finland. Any opinions on this?
