Oklahoma in the ncaas is a joke
Vitale is on FIRE about the Sooners getting in over Oklahoma State (who beat Oklahoma and Kansas twice each). Don't remember ever seeing him this pissed off about a team getting the shaft before. Only reason Oklahoma is in is because the Committee didn't want to leave Trae Young, who may very well be one of the most exciting players in college basketball, on the outside looking in, but they most assuredly do not deserve to be there. This was a decision made for one thing and one thing only, TV ratings.

Louisville out. USC out. Oklahoma State out. What do they have in common? Part of the federal investigation of college hoops.
There may be something here with the FBI investigation.

Cuse (and I'm an alum) has no business being in over ND, they beat us in the Dome. The tournament committee has made some really strange selections here.

As far as Syracuse getting in, maybe the NCAA is realizing that in light of what went down at UNC for 20yrs and this recent FBI investigation, they were overzealous with Cuse and Boeheim 3 years ago.

Oklahoma is the first team in the current era to finish 2-8 or worse their last ten games and get an at large bid.
Interesting factoid. How many major conference teams that started 14-2 or better have not gotten an at-large bid?

Oklahoma St. couldn't even beat out Baylor for the 4th #1 in the NIT. I don't get it.

Zags will play UNC in the Elite 8. Revenge game.
Good god, is there any team more hateable and insufferable in sports than Gonzaga basketball (outside of the Yankees, obviously)? At least Duke, the Canadiens, and the Dallas Cowboys have occasionally backed up their senses of entitlement.

Last year was just peak Gonzaga. “Happy to be here” doesn’t even begin to explain it.

This is a phenomenal rant and very accurate, except for the fact that the Canadians shouldn't be spoken in the same breath as the Yankees or Cowboys.

Because they are so much more hateable...right? Also to completely derail the thread I've always thought of the Maple Leafs and Cowboys as more aligned. Teams living on past glory that have a higher profile than they "deserve" for their current levels of success.

More that the Canadians haven't had any success whatsoever in the past couple of decades and their years of success were in a league with 6 teams or expansion teams. Definitely the most overrated franchise in history. Dallas is pretty overrated, too, but at least they had the 90s.

And while I hate the Yankees with a passion, at least they have had a century of success, most of it pretty consistent. I do hate the Canadians more, of course. They are just so easy to despise. Worse than any team.

man none of these brackets really scream scary. I mean i guess the one with Duke/Kansas/Mich State (all top 8 in most various ranking systems) seems pretty tough, but even then eh. Really just not a lot of great/scary teams out there outside of the 1 seeds.

Even the 1s to me are not scary. No team is hands-and-shoulders above others thsi season at all.

Oklahoma with zero road wins in 2018, this true?
Oklahoma State beat them twice and Kansas twice, yet land grabber gets in over them? WTF

Oklahoma State was the worst of these three teams in nearly every metric the committee uses. Oklahoma and Baylor was a much closer call.
