The Titans held the ball for 19 of the 30 second half minutes though. There were maybe one or two spots that I thought a run would be more appropriate than the called pass play during the second half. I think this is being blown out of proportion.

Don't forget that Hill dropped a few passes and Kelce was knocked out of the game. Still have to find a way to win in the end but the loss of Kelce really hurt.

Sure, but part of that was that KC wasn't calling runs to eat up the time. The fact that KC only had the ball for 11 minutes shows they likely didn't run it enough.

KC had two 3rd and shorts (3rd and 1 and a 3rd and 2) and called passes both times. They converted neither.

Hiring Nagy seems a lot like hiring Patricia, except that you’d obviously rather have a BB protege than an Andy Reid protege. (Though perhaps that’s debatable — BB’s coaching tree has been underwhelming.)
from wiki:

Seven of Belichick's assistant coaches have become NFL head coaches:

Here are all of the Chiefs second half plays:

Kansas City Chiefs at 6:31, (1st play from scrimmage 6:25)
1-10-KC 19 (6:25) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short left to A.Wilson [J.Casey].
2-10-KC 19 (6:21) (Shotgun) K.Hunt left guard to KC 28 for 9 yards (K.Byard).
3-1-KC 28 (5:43) A.Smith right end to KC 27 for -1 yards (J.Casey).
4-2-KC 27 (5:02) D.Colquitt punts 43 yards to TEN 30, Center-J.Winchester. A.Jackson to KC 47 for 23 yards (K.Reaser).
Penalty on TEN-B.Trawick, Running Into the Kicker, offsetting, enforced at KC 27 - No Play.
Penalty on KC-U.Eligwe, Unnecessary Roughness, offsetting.
(4:49) D.Colquitt punts 44 yards to TEN 29, Center-J.Winchester. A.Jackson MUFFS catch, RECOVERED by KC-K.Reaser at TEN 28. K.Reaser
to TEN 28 for no gain (B.Trawick).
4-2-KC 27
Kansas City Chiefs at 4:34
1-10-TEN 28 (4:34) (Shotgun) K.Hunt right end to TEN 29 for -1 yards (W.Woodyard; A.Williamson).
2-11-TEN 29 (3:53) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short right to T.Hill ran ob at TEN 31 for -2 yards (L.Ryan).
3-13-TEN 31 (3:14) (Shotgun) A.Smith scrambles up the middle to TEN 30 for 1 yard (D.King).
4-12-TEN 30 (2:31) H.Butker 48 yard field goal is No Good, Hit Left Upright, Center-J.Winchester, Holder-D.Colquitt.

Here's their first two possessions in the 2nd half. I have no problem with any of the above given the down & distance situation, with perhaps the exception of the bolded. I thought this was a designed keeper play, which to me counts as a run. I may be misremembering though. In any event, lets call this one play where they should have gone run over pass.

Are there others that you think should have been called differently?

Kansas City Chiefs at 14:08
1-10-KC 25 (14:08) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short left to T.Hill to KC 30 for 5 yards (A.Jackson).
2-5-KC 30 (13:26) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short left to A.Wilson pushed ob at KC 38 for 8 yards (J.Cyprien). P17
1-10-KC 38 (12:52) (Shotgun) K.Hunt up the middle to KC 45 for 7 yards (W.Woodyard; J.Casey).
2-3-KC 45 (12:16) K.Hunt right tackle to KC 46 for 1 yard (D.Morgan; A.Johnson).
3-2-KC 46 (11:30) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short right to O.Charles.
4-2-KC 46 (11:26) D.Colquitt punts 54 yards to end zone, Center-J.Winchester, Touchback.

Their next possession. We could take issue with the bolded I guess, but it's not like it's some must-run situation.

Kansas City Chiefs at 6:06, (1st play from scrimmage 5:58)
1-10-KC 27 (5:58) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short right to D.Harris to KC 40 for 13 yards (J.Brown; T.Smith). P18
1-10-KC 40 (5:20) (Shotgun) A.Smith right end pushed ob at TEN 42 for 18 yards (J.Cyprien).
PENALTY on KC-D.Harris, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at TEN 49.
1-9-KC 41 (4:50) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short middle to T.Hill (J.Casey).
2-9-KC 41 (4:46) (Shotgun) A.Smith sacked at KC 41 for 0 yards (B.Orakpo).
3-9-KC 41 (4:01) (Shotgun) PENALTY on TEN-J.Casey, Neutral Zone Infraction, 5 yards, enforced at KC 41 - No Play.
3-4-KC 46 (4:01) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass short right to D.Harris to TEN 45 for 9 yards (J.Brown). P19
1-10-TEN 45 (3:27) (Shotgun) K.Hunt up the middle to TEN 44 for 1 yard (J.Casey; W.Woodyard).
2-9-TEN 44 (2:56) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete short left to D.Harris (J.Cyprien).
3-9-TEN 44 (2:51) (Shotgun) A.Smith sacked at TEN 44 for 0 yards (D.Morgan).
Timeout #2 by TEN at 02:15.
4-9-TEN 44 (2:15) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete deep middle to A.Wilson.

Their last possession. I guess there are a handful of plays in there that reasonable minds could argue should be runs rather than passes, but at this point the score is 22-21 Tennessee, so the whole "it was 21-3 and they should have run more often" argument does not apply here. That's what I'm getting at.

No, it's not must run. However, some things that might weigh in favor of it, especially the first down plays and the 3rd and short:

1--Possessing the NFL's leading rusher.
2--Having a lead against a non-explosive offense that logic says will take some time to drive down the field 3x.

I don't know, it's like the baseball adage that you don't want to get beat on your second best pitch.

He's bonding with his fanbase over an item of their shared history. Cut the guy a break. If the next Patriots coach announces at his first press conference that "by the way, not only did Tom Brady not deflate those balls, no balls were ever deflated in the first place. I think we all know this to be true", he's gonna win himself some instant fans.

Carolina hired Norv Turner as the OC. I could see him really helping Cam and that offense. I like Carolina a lot next year.

Bill has a great track record finding coordinators. He might have to go outside the tree for the OC but the defensive ones he should be able to promote from within. Unless O’Shea or Fears gets the promotion of course.

Why not, unless he prefers to parlay the Saban assignment into a college HC gig?
Back to the NFL as a coordinator would seem to be the other natural progression.

They were discussing this on WEEI yesterday and they sounded like they had a source saying Daboll would likely come back if McD left, as he could leverage the title for more money from either Alabama or NE, but I can’t find anything. They may have simply been speculating, but I would think it would certainly be on the table. They brought him back as successor the last time he returned, just McD didn’t leave.

Happy for BOB - he has done enough with Houston's average talent level to deserve a shot with his first real QB.

He needs to call Eric. It will be good for his spirit.

At some point, prospective coordinators are gonna be asking how long Bill expects to stick around, yeah?

That could be interesting...

Patriots’ defensive coordinator Matt Patricia is likely to become the Detroit Lions’ next head coach, league sources told ESPN. More on Sunday NFL Countdown.
And he added — as opinion, not reporting — that Josh is going to get one of the three other openings and that Brian Flores is in play at Arizona. Further, Patricia blew them away in Detroit interview, as in, this guy is GM material.

My wishcasting — Daboll comes home and Flores stays. But Schefter is good enough for me — this is the last round up for Patricia and McDaniels.

Just last year people thought that the clown nose t-shirt was going to cost Patricia head coaching opportunities, yet it seems he was on a lot of teams lists.

Seems like McDaniels and Colts would be a good fit. If Luck comes back healthy next year, you get an elite/near elite young QB entering what should be his prime. They need other pieces surrounding Luck, but starting with a franchise QB would be ideal.

I think Luck is better than Stafford, better than Eli/whichever QB the Giants draft in the first round, and better than whichever QB the Cardinals may draft.

Would be great to see the Giants strike out here. Will be interesting to see where they go if McDaniels chooses Indy and Shurmur goes to Arizona.

On one hand the potential of Andrew Luck - on the other Jim Irsay.... I don’t know that I’d take that job with an owner like that if I had other opportunities

That's going to suck to lose Josh (let alone both).

As for Daboll, isn't he making $1 million per year in Alabama?

Moving a family (again) might be a bit much given the stability he could have with Saban.
