It looks like spoilers is going to lose in that other thread, so I am opening up this game thread. I personally LIKE spoilers and not allowing the NFL to produce the rollout of information that makes their ratings the best, but I know some dont like them.

Please post anything you hear or see anywhere that is credibly sourced and/or confirmed throughout the draft.

Then why be in this forum if you just want to watch it on TV?

I just think its annoying that there is info out there that is held back until the commercial break is over. I could give two fucks about the production. Give me the info as soon as you have it.

To read others reactions and to discuss it? Not knowing for a few minutes due to watching the draft doesn't mean you don't want to talk about it. Once it's announced, it's easy to jump over to the non-spoiler thread and discuss.

I fully agree with your first sentence and think the NFL sucks for what they've done with the draft. Just let it roll as it happens, like a number of years ago when the Vikings forgot to pick which was awesome. They're deliberately holding stuff not just through commercials but for like 5+ min at a time for no good reason.

Honestly I like the event, the aura, the buzz, the hope, the hype and all of that shit including waiting through commercials for round 1 but then being able to do that while discussing with people here. But the most important thing to me is a good discussion here. If that means spoilers whatever, it is just my personal preference for day 1 and day 1 only there are no spoilers. Not a big deal either way.

I don't think it's unreasonable to have separate threads for the first round.

I actually think Mayfield is the best QB in the draft, Manziel comps are lazy. Mayfield is far more polished, he has excellent mechanics (a knock on Manziel) and a far better arm.

I’d take Mayfield If I had to pick one - accuracy and descion making translate. I don’t think I’d take one at 1, but would trade out for more picks and build.

Is Mayfield at 1.1 really that crazy?

I think the height thing is kind of overblown. He measured 6’1 at the combine and there are tons of 6’2 QBs in the league, in addition to smaller guys like Brees and Wilson. And Mayfield was a legitimately great player in college with very good accuracy and touch and elite competitiveness.

I dunno. I feel like if he was talked about as a top five pick from the beginning people wouldnt bat an eye at him going 1.1.

Baker is my QB2 just behind Rosen. He is a vastly superior prospect as a QB to Manziel.

If you're worried that the Giants or Jets love Mayfield (or someone willing to trade up), taking him at #1 isn't crazy.

I think they are similar, but Manziel was more of an off field risk. I actually thought Manziel was pretty good in Cleveland, all things considered, and definitely could have been a top 10 QB if he wasn’t such a moron.

Glad to see booing Roger Goodell is still a national pastime.

Great job by the nfl owners re-upping a commissioner that gets passionately booed in every stadium. He’s worth $40 million a year

At the risk of stating the obvious, it’s not his job to be popular with the fans.

If I were an owner, I’d be laying the groundwork to move on from Goodell after the next labor negotiation, but he has made the owners a shit-ton of money and absorbed a lot of hate that should be directed at them.
